Fcuking sucks balls.

I've been riding my GSXR for close to 2 months now, 1 month without the restrictor. I loved it, the raw power you could sum up from no where, the speed and the thrill.

The letter came through a couple weeks ago, asking me to provide proof etc...

£300 in labour and the kit, something I couldn't afford. They only gave me 2 weeks notice my 'friendly' garage couldn't get one in in time, so I had to go to Honda. They did it all great etc... Blah blah blah.

It's done by the carbs, but the ride is fcuking shocking.

It's half as responsive on the throttle, goes so weak at 100, then struggles to climb to 110. The bike sounds like it's going to cut out every 2 minutes.

Genuinly makes me sad to start it up because it sounds like it's dieing.

The only good thing about it is that I'm now riding within my license and completely legally, except for the can.

And to be honest, it's not worth it at all.

It's gotta go.

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ride a bike before it is restricted if you intend to keep it restricted.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Maybe because you insured it on a provisional, or a licence which you don't even have.

Yeah I got a fake one from here sitting about just in case they ever ask me, not that my bike is much over the limit.

Dunno who I got it from originally, but I attached it just in case any one else wants a copy...

its not that he had them fitted at the honda garage, its that, he claims, the honda garage stocked restrictors for a gsxr.

i understand they could fit them, but to actually stock the restrictors for a suzuki?

well yeah - maybe the Honda place didnt stock them.. but could get them delivered within a few days.

the 'friendly garage' couldnt do it within the two weeks, but that's not to say the Honda place was instant either Smile i'm sure Michael will be along soon to clear up a mess that is really of no real significance Laughing

I never once had a restrictor fitted on my ZX6R or DRZ when I was on a 33bhp license. I drew a dyno graph in MS Paint when I was asked for proof and the insurance company accepted that. I put 33bhp at the top of the Y axis and 16000rpm on the X axis and drew a diagonal line across it Laughing

I didn't bother restricting until I had my crash, if you tot up all the offences from the crash [No insurance due to riding outside of terms of licence and speeding (33 in a 30)] then that's 9 points I would have been the proud owner of. Luckily they let me off.

However, this is only the case in an accident that is almost guaranteed to be a fatality I've found, two friends have crashed into cars with no restrictors in and the police just believed them, as did the insurance company because they let them take the bike home, whereas the Police took mine.

The SV650S is restricted, as much as I want a GSXR (next buy) un-restricted, it just isn't worth my license and insurance premiums after being caught..

If your that fussed why don't you do the accelerated access (That is if you are over 21).

I was early 30s when I did my test and did the 2 year 33bhp, I didn't cheat. But I didn't get stopped, so I suppose I could have.

They have a warehouse full of them for loads of models.

They just have to ship it down here, couple days.

Not an order from the factory in europe which could take a week.
