Your mouth may have room for them. You're just teething. Speak to a dentist. Get some Ibuprofen 500's from a relative.

Clove oil.

Everytime I have to use it I curse Ste for telling me about it.

Fuck me it's horrible but it works!

Side ways eh? I had to have mine taken out at a hospital because they were sideways the dentists need to break it into bits and pick the bits out. Makes your head swell up and a bike helmet impossible to wear for 2 days. Btw get it done at a hospital! If your dentist does it he will charge lots of £££ hospitals OTOH are paid for via your taxes.

Clove oil +1.

Tastes like someones crapping into your mouth but it numbs it. Use this until you get an dentist appointment to check that you don't need a tooth out to make room for your teeth coming through..

All my four are coming through at the same time.

1 is more or less through, 2 are half through and 1 is just emerging. None of my front teeth are moving, so I guess I have a big enough gob to accommodate them.

go to a pharmacist and ask for orajel extra strength - it's benzocain - 20% w/w. Rub it on (doesn't taste bad like clove oil), instant relief. (Benzocain is often mixed with cocaine, as it has many of the same properties... it is a restricted substance) Be careful before sleeping - if you swallow it it can paralyse your throat muscles - breathing etc... not pretty.
Also, heavy painkillers like 30/500mg co-codamol are obviously nice..

Swilling scotch around for a bit will take the pain away for a while and unlike clove oil it does not taste like dog rectum.

Novocaine also works absolute wonders, though i'm not sure where you'd get that from.

It's prob more a problem related to inflammation of the gum covering the tooth so clove oil won't do much (that's better if the nerve of a tooth has died off due to decay)

Corsodyl regular strength mouthwash (or any mouthwash with Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.2% in the 'ingredients' list - or 0.12% if you can't get the stronger stuff) from tesco, rinse with that 3x per day for a week or two.

Go to your dentist, they may extract the upper wisdom tooth if it's biting on your inflamed gum. Least they will do is refer you for the extraction of the wisdom tooth.

This week alone I have seen 6 or 7 new patients with this problem.
Wisdom teeth always have been, and will continue to be problematic for western society - our mouths aren't big enough for them and evolution hasn't quite caught up and stopped us getting them yet...

According to the consultant I saw at the hospital, despite my dentist sending me to him twice for a severely impacted wisdom tooth that is causing me pain, its now common knowledge that they dont cause you problems and should be left alone! Evil or Very Mad
After the 1st visit I was sent away to have a large molar root filled, my dentist protested and said although there was a filling in the tooth its very healthy. I agreed to have it done anyway (£250) only to be told that she was right and I had wasted my money.
I returned to the same consultant only to be told again, that taking my wisdom tooth out wont help the facial pain I have.
My dentist then wrote a snotty letter to the hossy and I was refered to the HOD who took one look at my x ray and said if that tooth was in my mouth id want that out. Rolling Eyes
I went in 4 weeks ago, one of the YTS lads had a go and after half an hour of trying to pull my head off gave up and stitched me up. I go back in on the 8th and Mr HOD is going to do it personally and recons hes got the knack so I wont need a general. (thank fuck cos I can eat loads of pies before I go in).

I have two wisdom teeth through in the top. Not causing any issues yet and they may not cause any problems. It depends if they stop coming through by themselves, or carry on pushing through apparently.

I had one of my wisdom teeth out a few years back - I cried on my dentist before hand which helped him decide. Best decision ever, I had lots of pain before and none once it had all healed up. The guy showed it to me after he pulled it, that sucker was huge with two roots that curved outwards slightly. A few days after I was pulling chunks of tooth out of my gum with tweezers.

I also had to fork out several grand in orthodontist fees getting braces to straighten my teeth out after Evil or Very Mad My dentist insists that wisdom teeth do not push other teeth out of line but before mine grew though I had perfectly straight teeth.

As for the OP - speak to your dentist and get super strong painkillers to tide you over.

Absolutely genuinely seriously this seems to be true - much as circumstantial evidence would suggest otherwise, there have been studies that state that removal of impacted wisdom teeth has no effect on crowding of the lower front teeth

see this cochrane review on the subject for one example

cochrane review summary wrote:
This review found no evidence to support or refute routine prophylactic removal of asymptomatic impacted wisdom teeth in adults; no studies of adults met the criteria for inclusion. However, it found some reliable evidence that suggests that the prophylactic removal of impacted third molars in adolescents to reduce or prevent late incisor crowding cannot be justified. Such removal neither reduces or prevents late incisor crowding.

Wow, really? I thought he was saying that to make me feel better!
