My original 360 gave up the ghost a couple of years ago with the no video problem. Originally thought the AV cable had gone, replaced it to find the same problem.
I did the X-clamp fix on it and that only worked for all of about 4/5 hours before going back to how it was.
Spoke to a guy who fixes them locally who says that the problem is un-repairable.
Can anyone in the know confirm this as its still running the old dashboard anf wouldn't mind getting it working again so I can possibly JTAG it.
Any takers? ____________________ Current: Suzuki DRZ400sm (07) https://fbc.spruz.com

What do you want us to tell you?
It's certainly not the case, did you do the xclamp fix?
If so, what thermal paste did you use? How high did you torque the bolts? did you do each processor from corner to corner? Did you do the 12v mod? what did your kit contain?
I use Arctic 5 thermal paste, 8 x bolts, 8 x nylon washers, 8 x spring washers.
Did you reflow it? If so, which method?
Have you checked the secondary error codes? if so, what error does it point to?
And most importantly, why is it that I get drawn into every bodies Xbox 360 related threads ____________________ Turbo R1

Was just wanting to know if it was fixable as I 'd like to get it up and running again.
I did the X-clamp fix on it with one of those generic 360 repair kits you get of ebay. Couldn't tell you exactly what thermal paste was used, but you know what these kits are like, all claiming to have the best thermal paste known to man.
I only torqued the bolts up till they stopped turning without having to put any real force into it. Didn't want to risk putting any stress on the mobo. I tightened corner to corner, similar to changing a wheel on a car.
My kit contained what you list as using yourself, although as said I cant confirm what thermal paste was used.
Haven't done the 12v fan mod as to be honest, giving me a soldering iron is like giving a twat a loaded shotgun.
To reflow it I sat the DVD drive back in the shell and propped the fans on the corner of that and over the exposed heatsink. Gave it 20 mins on and 20 mins off.
Haven't checked the secondary error codes, will I get one from it as when powered on it starts as normal with all the right sounds coming from the tv, just no video. No red lights are displayed.
As for your addiction to getting involved in these threads, couldn't possibly comment. Maybe you should seek some sort of therapy for your addiction? The first step is admiting you have a problem. ____________________ Current: Suzuki DRZ400sm (07) https://fbc.spruz.com
