hey guys, my bike rm125 03 (crosser) is killing all my plugs, by this i dont just mean making them black, like the other day i put a brand new plug in and the bike destroyed it (wasnt sparking anymore) in the first ten mins, my bike has just had a new crank, so i'm runnin it in at the moment, i thourght this could maby be the cause as since i'm goin so slow maby its just furing the plug and breaking it inside or something (i dont really know much about plugs) also, i'm running it on 1-32 (the recomended amount for running it in) this is higher then i used to run it (maby it just the high oil ratio), oh and one final thing, the plugs that i have been using are the supposivly better irridium tips, maby they cant handle such a slow place whilse running in???? i totally stuck and it's costing a fortune, any help will be WELL appreciated Wink

fueling is too lean weak mixture will make the engine combustion temperature too high burning/melting the plugs?

Go on Champion plug website
or google plug condition in google images
see if you can find the condition of your plug by comparing to the pictures and descriptions.

hi,
I dont know anything about your bike, but what i have found is, when running in any bike but especially 2 strokes, your not getting the spark plug to burn off the oil deposits as your not revving it high enough.
also the combination of running a bit rich wont help.
iridium plugs seem to foul easier in these cases & once fouled, there f*cked.
try using standard copper/iron tipped plugs (they are about 3 times cheaper) & perhaps think about getting a different heat range of plug? ie a plug that doesnt have to get as hot?
personally i very rarely use iridium plugs on 2 strokes apart from the odd ocassion when the carb is set up perfectly & i cant get gold palladium.
i have used them on 4 strokes but never really went out of my way to get them.
currently got one in my 600cc single, but tbh never noticed any difference.
there are others who will swear they are better, im yet to be convinced,
cheers,
GAZ

Pic of a failed plug would help.
