Sounds like there isn't enough power in the battery.
Also sounds obvious, but are all the indicator bulbs are ok? A blown bulb doesn't actuate the relay.
As the headlight get abit brighter when you rev then the battery is getting some charge, so the regulator/rectifier is probably ok.
A multimeter will answer most of your questions.
I suspect a knackered battery. (Is it over 5yrs old? Do you check the levels in the battery cells)

Hi pat,
I've just popped a new fuse in and it seems to be back to normal apart from the main headlight bulb looks like it's blown but strangely the main beam light in the rev counter has also gone, weird. I'll give it a go over will a multimeter tomorrow, check all the connections and check the voltage on the battery.
When I got the bike it had been stood for a over 10 years all the lights worked at the time. The indicators are dim as hell when it idles and get bright and almost solid when I give it revs. Maybe these two problems are related.
It thought it was weird why it's only blown the fuse tonight. There was almost no traffic about so I thought I'd open it up. I dunno if the fuse blew and then the bike was getting all the power from the generator?
Like I said i'll check it out tomorrow and see what else I can find.

Trying to get a good quality 6v headlight bulb is a must, they can blow quite easily. And have a good battery on the bike, despite the fact it doesnt really need one! It just helps to dampen the charging system and prevent bulbs blowing |
