My handlebar area on my 2000 Hornet is pretty dirty. Areas like behind the clutch/brake lever are caked in black crap. Just wondering what the best/safest wat to clean them up is?

WD40, Pledge, Autoglym will have something more expensive to use.

If you use detergent you will need to replace the lubricant when dried off.
Scottoil 365 is what i use around this area. Safe to use on everything.
Drives out moisture and more importanly nuetralizes salt. And it goes where you can't get oil and grease in.
Spray on wipe off the excess.
