I find a lot of car drivers cut corners.

I notice this when I follow them and their right side wheels are way over the white lines in the middle of the road.

Much worse of course is when you meet a car doing that coming towards you.
Very lazy and dangerous.

Besdides that and a taxi pulling out on me in the city centre without even realising he had done it, it was a lovely ride, beautiful day.

I cut corners on my bike. Lots of corners can be cut safely.
As for a car coming around the corner towords you...then maybe you are too far over to the right?

i get your drift tho. Thumbs Up

Theres one near me, its a suburban road that is going left but then kins a bit more to the left. Every time I go down there be it in the car or the bike someone coming the other way is cutting it despite there being plenty of room on their own side. When I had the vectra I was quite tempted to just stand my ground and let them write it off for me Shocked

I think the OP is talking about people cutting corners they can't see around. Loads of cars do it round here and it's a bloody pain in the arse.

Yeah, theres this road up from my house which looks like this picture, the hazard lines are just painted but that pointly bit is a non see through vegetation. The corners on the road are blind as there are houses which go to the edge of the road more or less. Many time I have almost been smashed into by people in cars when I am on my bike or in my car...

They are driving on the wrong side of the road because they cannot be arsed to slow down a tad and actually look and make sure nowt is coming Evil or Very Mad

Always thought this would be a good way of getting rid of your old vehicles and being able to claim full crack of some twits insurance.I know several roads (including my own) which for no good reason everyone goes into far to quick and swings across to the wrong lane for far to long, or if coming from the other way, cuts the corner, far to quick.

Well I anticipate and expect it now and purposely keep over further to the left in case there is something coming towards me on my side of the road, but it makes me think Phew, lucky I was over or we would have had a head on.

I was following this car on the way home, he was well over and cutting the bends which maybe he thinks is fine as he can see the road ahead but if I was overtaking (not a textbook place to overtake I know) he would put me in the hedge.

I thought he was doing it on purpose but when I did eventually decide to pass and look in his window at him he looked shocked that I was there.

I think it is more down to laziness, I did not realise bikes do it too, I loves twists and bends.

Moto, at least you have the forward planning skills to see it coming, forewarned is forearmed Wink

Sometimes, on a long sweeping left-hander, it can be better to ride way out by the white line to increase you're view of the road, the traffic coming the other way will see you sooner and you'll see it sooner and be able to tighten your line.

Take an old sheet with you, when he does it next, let it go. He won't do it again.

i have no problem with someone cutting a corner as such...

but what does f*** me off, is when someone cuts a corner, nearly hitting me and then giving me a dirty look like it was my fault Rolling Eyes
