mod 1 called off :(

Was supposed to have done my mod1 yesterday morning.

Woke up to a monsoon....then my instructor texted to warn me it would likely be cancelled. Don't know about anywhere else in UK but in NI you have to present yourself for the test regardless.

So up we went to the test centre, had a sort of half lesson beforehand to get warmed up before the test. Absolutely lashing, was soaked right through even wearing waterproofs.

Went back to the instructors van to get out of the weather and then the examiner came out to tell us the test was called off

Re booked for next Friday afternoon and my instructor didn't charge me anything either for yesterday which was sound of him

Just a bit gutted cos I felt really ready for it, and hoped id be booking mod2 now!

Instructor was taking the piss telling me no one will believe it was cancelled and think I've failed it lol especially as the sun was splitting the trees a couple of hours later! Sods law!

It would only be cancelled if the examiner thought it would be too dangerous to be out on the road in test conditions. Sadly having to present yourself to the test centre anyway is just how it is. The examiner decides at the time of the test. If your test was booked for 1pm and it was lashing down then you stand the test being cancelled. If at 2pm it has stopped raining the guy after you will probably have his test there and then.

Good luck for the resit though and use the time now to get as much extra practice in as you can.

Gutted for you, we had Mod 1 cancelled too by having a car parked in the middle of the lay out, very strange but true, our main worry was telling people and them thinking yeah yeah!

We did manage to get a cancellation for the day after and pass in the rain

lol, The test at Oxford is done in a football stadium car park, the test was at early Monday morning and the car was there from the day before.
There were lots of unhappy people waiting for their Mod 1's, some of the blokes even tried moving the car .

No chance of using the car for the swerve test then? Lol

Nah! We tried that one, they didn't care, it'd happened a few times before apparently.
We waited 3 hours then went to our riding school who were great, straight on the phone to the DSA complaining. They also called all the local test centres and managed to get 2 cancellations at Silverstone the morning after. Big dramas that day too, there's a thread about it somewhere .

Sorry to hear you had to reschedule...clearly it would have been way too dangerous to take the test, but if you were anything like me you'd have got all psyched up for it, suffered from nerves, and now you've got to do it all again Friday

Good luck and just take your time, there's no rush on anything, and if you're not sure exactly what he wants you to do, then just ask him to repeat it.
