So, currently getting pretty arsey about some cloth-eared bint annexing my Matthew Ryan CD for the best part of 5 months (lent a week before I went to Thailand under strict instructions I love it and I was expecting to get it 10 hours later... can't download it and all my stuff was nicked) and is still dodging me now. Despite lending it at the end of a nice night with me supplying both drugs, booze and place to use both.

Utter fucking cuntery. If she was a bloke ante's would of been raised.

Best example I've seen was the Filipinos in Thailand who let some sweet Chinese girl vouch for their 550 quid laptop from a friend of hers shop... then basically refused to ever pay any money back and treated it as free. Throwing excuse after excuse, and the chinese girl was too sweet to just let me 're-acquire' the laptop from them until they paid. It got sorted eventually, but jebus.

Anyone else had any spectacularly cuntish dealings with anyone having done them a favour or such...

Here, I'll do it for you.

I did hear a better one the other day, but just curious.

And yeh, not lending stuff is the safe bet, but contrary to popular belief I'm very generous and I LOVE sharing things that make me happy. Plus it seems the only way to find out someone you trust is untrustworthy, is to put them in that situation. Most of the time it's because you both forget about it. But times like this where it's doesn't seem to be about theft, it's stupidity and or apathy.

I know a large number of people to whom "lend" means "give" and have learned the hard way that you don't lend anyone anything unless you're not arsed about getting the thing back.

I get the feeling I know what you mean Bonny, ?

On a smaller scale but in the same vane, goes something like this.

Out doing some shopping and I`m in a big store.
As I approach the doors to leave, there are about six old people walking in.
I hold the door open and they walk in and not one of them can even be arsed to say thank you! Evil or Very Mad
as the last one walks by, I say in a loud voice "A thank you would of been nice".
The last old man to walk in, turns round and says "twat" and walks off! Surprised

Which way round would you be doing that? It's going to be awkward to complete "phase 2" either way.

There are a few categories of offenders on this one.

The inept- they cant be trusted not to lose it, they lost it.

The bastards-enjoy the little power trip of not giving back something you want back.

The thoughtless- they leant it to someone else.

The uncaring- they have other concerns and couldnt care less about your loss.

The self-righteous-how dare you ask for it back how unkind of you.

Fortunately, I dont lend stuff out usually, but I can be a bit too soft on chasing for things to be returned. I like to see it as although a loss, a cheap lesson, as you know not to trust them with anything more significant in future.

In particular, I once leant a large amount of money to a girlfriend, and struggled to get it back when we split. However I got off lightly, as if we had married as had been discussed and wasn't out of the question, I could have lost my house.

God I love facebook. Text her earlier suggesting she come visit today or tomorrow after work, or she'd get no tea.

Then found out where she worked (facebook Thumbs Up), let her know this, and told her I'm getting my cd's tomorrow from there and she /might/ get a cuppa. Just got a text all full of sweetness and light saying that was an awesome deal.

I don't foresee tea in her future.

But typically took leverage (ie crazy bloke coming to her work and causing hell, which she well knows I can and will do) to get he moving.

Bah, pain in arse.

I have a hard time lending my kids anything, DVD's, Blu Rays, games, CD's, computer, owt. It drives me nuts when they don't look after stuff and leave it all over. I'm very OCD when it comes to my stuff and they don't seem to give a fuck. I'm sure I was the same when I was a teenager, but hey, it's MY STUFF!!! I'll give them money all day long, but leave my shit alone if you can't look after it...

My good deed the other week went unpunished, some guy had left his wallet in the gun shop, looked at the address with gun shop owner and found out it was on my way home, so I got the shop owner to seal the wallet in an envelope and sign over the seal strip, then dropped it to the guys house.

Mainly because it is a fucking nightmare when you lose your wallet, bank cards can be cancelled its all the shit inside the wallet you keep for some unknown reason

Haha, facebook blocking is ridiculously powerful it would seem. If anyone fancies messaging her a link to this thread, and perhaps explaining differing opinions of 'returned without a problem' (which was by the way, a day before I left for Thailand to never return again, having got my mum to drive me to her house... which she gave the shittest directions possible... despite working a minutes walk from my house)...

I'd be grateful...
