What do you mean by 'ruined' ???

By the sounds of it, it sounds like you damage them Question

However by seeing the pics, it looks like you paint/recondition them. If this is the case, then they look quite smart. I love seeing posts of things being reconditioned, wether it be bikes, cars or.... vices.

So whats the deal with them ?

More info and pics required, then I'll leave some good karma for you.

If someone said to me "Would you like to come to my shed and check out my vices" I think I'd want to 'clench' before saying yes !.

I was a bit puzzled too, but by ruining, think he means reconditioning them. ie tart it up to look like new.

Why someone would want to do that is beyond me, unless theres money in it, which i doubt.

I can just about see the sense in renovating vehicles that are actually piles of junk and really only good for the scrap heap, as its sentimental value.

But how could you ever get sentimental about a vice ?

I can see the appeal in vices.

In fact his recent vice related postings have reminded me of a rather fine but rusty example I have sat in my hedge that really could use some attention.

It was rescued from a fire as well for extra kudos. I can imagine it would be quite satisfying to restore.

Almost like a quick restoration fix, when you cant be arsed with your aging rust bucket car or van. Razz

Thats a good pitch, im almost persuaded but mostly I think as long as it works, its ok, if it doesnt work, it needs fixing or freeing up. Although I guess it is nice to make things shiny with a lick of paint or whatever.

Some oher BCF'rs were upset that I'd ruined the *patina* on a couple of others I'd posted...

Finished the Columbian today:
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/ZRX61/Projects/10-3-10004.jpg

& yes there's money in it. Takes about an hour, to restore em...apart from waiting for paint to dry.

Take these 3:
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/ZRX61/Projects/10-3-10007-1.jpg

The two at the front cost $15 each, I have less than 2 hours work in both of them. I can easily sell them for $60-$70 each. So basically $90-$110 profit for a couple of hours work. Thumbs Up

That big one at the back took not much more than an hour. Cost $50, can sell for $180-$200... Thumbs Up

Well that certainly clears things up. I really like what you are doing with them - even if it wasn't for financial gain.

Looking good..

What do you clean them up with, shot blasting type of thing? Or just old fashioned elbow grease with a wire brush?
