Pete/Kickstart/other straightliner people, help required

I'm in the process of writing my dissertation, and will be requiring some detailed acceleration/braking figures for a range of bikes.

I was wondering if there are any speed run type events coming up on the calender, it would be really helpful if I could attend one, especially if someone friendly had a datalogger or similar at one.

Any help/advice appreciated, theres a backup hopefully in the shape of bike magazines. But it would be better for me to have some part in the readings

Straightliners web site seems to not have the events working at the moment. Thought there was one around now at Santa Pod.

While quite a few of the fastest people have data logging, not sure how many would be that willing to share it. And few of the rest have it. I do have a drift box which does GPS based data logging.

As to braking performance, tends to be enough room so you do not have to worry too much about that.

Thinking about it a bit more, possibly a bit late in the year. The other good event to check would have been the top speed event at Honington this month, but being an active base everyone needs security clearance and it is too late to get that now.

When do you need the stats for?

Do you have access to a runway to get your own stats

I actually do have access to a runway, but the hurricanes did a number on it and it's not ideal. (Private) perimiter road is more than long and smooth enough for speed testing though.

Data will be used to calculate forces on the headstock of a frame (with adjustable rake, swingarm pivot, centre of gravity and ergonamics) which will then be subjected to finate element analysis (CAD failure testing type thing) to make sure it can stand them

The annoying thing, given all the assumptions and safety factors I'll use the original data could be basically anything. But it does need to be collected scientifically
