Anyone who pays £650 to a man on the street for a laptop deserves what they get.
It would have been amusing if they'd found an apple in it instead of a potato

Yup.
Thats just asking to be ripped off.
My brother years ago was working on a building site, a van turned up and a couple guys started selling TV's out the back of it. He spent (as I recall) £350 cash on what was at the time a pretty up to date TV (Nicam stereo and all that kind of thing.)
When he plugged it in nothing happened. He took it to a friend who sold electronic stuff, they opened up the back and found the picture tube had been smashed and some bricks had been added for ballast.
In the interests of karma (hedging my bets here) I felt bad for him. (Even although it did serve him right and I laughed a wee bit on the inside.)

I have seen that tv show, but havent seen the thing I described on that show. I went along to this thing it was in a community centre or something in a street in my town. Probably about a decade ago now.
