Getting the bike onto a paddock stand, of course. The 'Blade is my first bike without a centre stand, so I bought a cheap Shocked stand from the local shop (a mere 97 euros) but can't work out how to get the bike onto the stand single-handed. Is it possible, or can I only get the bike from side-stand to paddock stand with someone holding the bike upright at the front?

The stand is the type that hooks onto a couple of bobbins on the swinging arm.

TIA

I normally get the left hook around the bobbin while the bike is on its side, then hold the bike upright with my left hand and manouvre the right hook under the right bobbin.

I tried to do that a couple of times, and the bike came very close to falling, which is when i gave up and called the wife over. Just needs practice, I suppose, but I am reluctant to drop my shiny new 'blade just yet!

You could try putting something under the side stand to make the bike sit more upright before trying to use the paddock stand?

One hand over the seat unit holding it upwards and one on the paddock stand. Once it's on both hooks you can push down a bit and it'll support itsself. Then you just push down hard to bring it onto the stand.

ahh I had the same problem with mine, I use a block of wood under the side stand to get it nearly upright then gently take the weight on the stand Thumbs Up

Just managed it, didn't fancy having it more upright, but held the pillion footrest brackets and eased it onto the stand, then heaved the stand down with my foot. No damage done.

I forget the name of the stand I bought, it's back in the shed now, but I think it is Italian. Red, anyway!

i somehow manage it on my own with the ZXR and the XRV..reminds me... need to get a centre stand for the XRV to make life simple...

I just grab the back end with one hand on the zxr the pillion strap on the xrv the grab rail.. get the bike to stay upright and align the brackets then lift and pray...

I normally just stand to the back side of the bike, get the paddock stand in position and pull the bike so it is upright. I then lean it on my hip and get the hooks in position. Takes some practice but is easy after a while.

I use an Abba Stand, you can do it yourself. Though it takes a minute or 2, to get everything in position before you can pull the lever.

Should be able to start at the back of the bike, with it on the sidestand, and then just pull it upright and use your foot to get the paddock stand under and up.

Surely not that difficult?
