I am off for a run this weekend assuming weather is good, Far north to Lanarkshire, anyone suggest a cheap recovery option if the worst should happen ie flat tyre breakdown etc.

£29 for bronze gets you uk wide recovery as opposed to the £90 you pay green flag, gem or £100+ to Aa, rac etc

They have some good reviews off this forum if you have a search and their t+c say they cover you in the event of an accident something a lot of companies don't do. Some people on here have experience of post small accident recovery with them for free, I don't know who though I'm afraid. I just remember searching and finding that out before buying my cover.

Green flag are the only other one that won't charge you a fortune for recovery if you one off and break a clutch lever when everywhere Jesuit 200 miles from home. But they cost about £90 so insurance choice was a no brained for me.

If you want home start aswell then it's £49 with them, again a very good price but not something I was after.

I thought AA was only about £50 (should know I have it)
The good thing is with AA you can get picked up even if a passenger in another vehicle, probably best if you have car(s) too.

Roadside help, national recovery and onward travel options is £99 with the AA. You get that for £29 with insurance choice. It's £59 or £69 with the AA if you don't want the onward travel option which you do get in the £29 insurance choice package.

The thing that really swung it for me though was if you have a small off and break a front brake lever at 8pm when everywhere is closed the AA and most places (except green flag and insurance choice) either won't cover you so you have to pay the recovery costs which could be a few hundred quid if you're a couple of hours from home, or they put a £70 cap on what they cover, because it's accident damage not a breakdown. I'm not dissing the AA but I personally feel you can get better cover for better money.
