When pulling from the lights, how quick do you get your feet up on the pegs?

I don't think I'm even moving and they're back up which is bizarre compared to some of the courier types that are tens or hundreds of feet down the road and still have then dangling down all spread eagle like.

Have thought the same sometimes too, I see people 50 meters down the road with one leg still dangling.

I'm like you, up the second I am moving.

When pulling away to the right I will occasionally dangle my left leg for some bizarre reason. Other than that its straight up and onto the pegs!

Being as I hope to take my test in the next couple of months I am trying to be a perfect rider. So hencz always using left leg down and bringing it straight to the peg as I am moving off.

I do this, it's really weird if I am just pulling away in a straight line then feet up are straight away same if I am pulling away and turning left straight away, but if I am turning right at a set of lights then my left leg stays dangling until I'm upright again.

Moving off I'm straight up but when there is a bit of stop start traffic I tend to drag my left foot sometimes Laughing

Usually straight away, although in stop start traffic (not that I'm usually stopped by that but if I'm in it) ill sometimes use the insignia/out setting plastic thing on the front of my boot against the pillion peg, so my shin is basically holding my leg up (This is my left leg), and keep my right foot on the peg. Even though I always put my left leg down I never really end up with the shuffle thing because if I'm at the lights long enough to want to go in to neutral I usually put both feet down and stretching my legs anyway.

Sometimes I like to put both feet up before I start moving to test my
balance on the bike.. if you're feeling rather brave see how long you
dare to remain stationary like this** !! But usually my left foot is raised
as I set off (right foot always on the peg when stopped already).

Some times i put my feet up before i start moving. I only do this on bike's i'm comfortable with and if i don't have a pillion.

Usually i just leave my foot in one place on the ground, then as i ride off the foot goes backwards and gets lifted up like with taking a step when walking. Once the foot is off the ground it gets put on the peg.

Me too - when I first passed my test I did the feet straight on to the pegs thing but never felt confident pulling away at a right turn especialy narrow junctions - but then I started to trail my left leg a bit and that sorted it - maybe it's a balance thing.

Thumbs Up

Same here.
In slow moving traffic if i'm bored i try and keep both feet on the pegs testing my balance at 1mph wondering if the people in the car behind me is laughing at my attempt not to put feet down while crawling down the road.
Ever seen a kid learning to ride a bike for the first time? Handlebars going side to side wobbling all over the place. I imagine i look like that Razz
