I'm sick & tired of my Scorpion, extremely loud and gets everyone's attention which is also annoying.

Anyway, swapped back to standard as the bike will be sold soon & realized how nice the factory noise is. Feels much better & gives a better sense of power then the stubby.

for my next bike i may have to stick with stock, although behind a fellow Bandit today who had a Micron which sounded very subtly but had that race can 'touch'.

Standard FTW.

Very Happy

I've just ogne back to standard (not out of choice, mind you, had some twat drive into my exhaust), and i must admit, I'm liking the relaxed rides without the beast noise my Beowulf can was making. Although I wont be sticking to stock!

Yeah i'd probably get a bit bored after a while but it can't be worse then a 9" Scorpion screaming at ya.

Loud pipes do get you noticed but also draw a lot of Police attention. I'm sure it sounds like i'm about to take off when i'm really doing about 35.

You'd be surprised. On the Ninja i had a Mivv which was loud, this Scorpion is louder i reckon.

What bikes that on anyway? Pics/vid?

I recently put on an Arrow can on my XT and took the baffle out and it was ridiculously loud. Louder than my CBR RR ever was or my ZX6R with a Scorpion. I put the baffle in and it's much easier to ride now - no more booming and people diving for cover.

As for the 'Loud pipes saves lives' - well I'm not so sure. I like my bikes quiet as I don't scare car drivers as I arrive behind them. With the loud can I'm sure it panicked them and made them drive slightly more erratically.

Loud pipes don't save lives, better observations (by the bike rider) saves lives.

I bought my bike with a viper can on it, to be honest it's just a reason to be pulled over. Plus on the motorway at constant RPM it is just a loud drone.

With the standard item, it still makes enough noise/induction roar to satisfy the hooligan inside me but quiet enough to potter about/do loads of long distance on.

I fitted a Beowulf stubby to the Bandit, and although it's noticeably louder & deeper sounding than stock, I don't think it's excessive.. and I've never been pulled for it.
https://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e312/Dazbo666/Bike%20Bits/Photo061beowulfcan.jpg
I also took note of my fuel consumption before and after swapping cans, and the Beowulf actually improves the mpg, so I'm not complaining!!
I make sure I keep the removeable baffle under the seat though, so that if I did get some interest from plod (and particularly at MOT time), I can easily and quickly re-fit it Thumbs Up

I used to have a Harris system on my ZX6R and that included a carbon Harris end can.
I took it off and put the factory system and end can back on.
I also took off the smaller number plate off and put the standard one back on.
Why?, because every time I went out for a ride with the small plate and after-market exhaust, plod would want to have a word with me and wag their fingers at me for being such a heinous criminal!

Sadly it`s a case of Big Brother winning Crying or Very sad

Empty Vessels make most noise.

And loud cans are fitted to bikes by little boys who refuse to mature.

Get them off.

Quiet Pipes may SAVE fucking Biking....

+1 without a doubt, in fact the majority of people I came up behind with a loud can fitted actually step all over the brakes Confused

Yoko had my 636 before me....It wasnt a standard exhaust, just a race rep one.... sounded lush.
I put the MoTo GP one on, loud, attention seeker type of can.
I liked it, but got on my tits.
Put the baffle in for mot - and I prefered it that way.
Am thinking to going back to a simple race rep can - cheap kind because it sounds smoother....
Thumbs Up

used to be an ART Pro Series 2, now more like a Pro Series 0.5 Smile

https://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb73/sam_billing_91/P210710_21380001.jpg

A poor attempt compared to some, but it was fairly loud, my dad could here it 2 and a bit miles away when I nailed it Smile
