Evening,
I've search both the touring & video sections for a similar thread, but didn't find any, so here it is:
| Quote: | Long Way Down is a television series, book and DVD documenting a motorcycle journey undertaken by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, on which they rode south through 18 countries from John o' Groats in Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa via Europe and Africa in 2007. It is a follow-up to the Long Way Round trip of 2004, when the pair rode east from London to New York via Eurasia and North America. |
Long Way Down - 1 - 1
Having stumbled upon this second series today, after religiously watching the Long Way Round way back ago, I've decided to post it for you people. There's also a full playlist for LWR documentary - UK to NYC riding due East, through Russia.
The YT vids contain ads (as usual) and it's not my channel, so mods can move/delete the thread if it breaks any rules.

I quite liked the Ewan and Charlie tours too. It did feel very.... Safe though? Even when they had someone pull a gun on them or something, watching them talk about it it just didn't feel like any harm would come to them. Even some of the Top Gears (Bolivia and Vietnam specials) felt more real than the Ewan and Charlie tours.
Saying that, I wouldn't mind watching them again. Thanks for the linkage |

is this about touring or exploration?
Though, if you're a fan, there's more here .

Or get a copy of Mondo Enduro on DVD if you're stuck on video. |

I love reading that forum! I know I am adamant about not stepping above a 125cc bike (over 30 mile a day commuting in slow London traffic, stuff a high fuel cost), but that forum always makes me wonder if I should have bought that Derbi Terra Adventure or if I should step up to a cheap 250cc so I could... Well... Go on an adventure? |

30 miles a day in nasty traffic and I'd want a big bike to get through it with the least effort as possible .
Pretty sure it was an advrider they had the story of someone that rode from Australia to London on CT110 'postie bikes', which can't be any faster than your bike .
Riding a c90 around recently has enforced I definitely prefer power (thus convenience) over slow and good fuel economy. |
