I have never posted anything in this section of the forum before, so thought I'd do it now.

Here are some pictures of my bikes:

Hyosung GT125R - First Bike

Got it as my first bike, only really bought it because it was physically big in size and was a 125. Liked it so much that I bought the 650 version of the same bike.

Hyosung GT125 - Project Bike

Bought this off ebay, was an MOT failure - didn't need much work done to it, so repaired it and sold it on again.

Good bike (awaits the redicule), had my fun with it. However it broke down on a tour of Europe, just before we made it into Poland. Left it in the Czech Republic but got it back a couple of months later.

Hyosung Cruise II - Current Bike (Winter Hack)

Picked this up for £550. Been using it to get to work recently. £15 to tax for a year and hundreds and hundreds of miles on a tank of fuel. EXCELLENT !!! Only had 800 miles on it, and had been sat in a garage for 6 years not being used. Last used in 2004.

Hopefully my next bike wont be a Hyosung. Rolling Eyes

These Hyo's are definitely growing on me.

Besides the breaking down of the GT650R, are they actually any good, reliability wise?

I'm seriously tempted by one after I pass my test.

looking at that 125 and it`s a v-twin? and that got me thinking Shocked .
If you can get mild tune up bits for the chinese CG clones, can you get tune up bits for that ?

Yes, I did have a couple of problems with the GT650R. However it was all from the same general area and probably linked to one another.

The 0-ring gasket on the inside of the engine casing sits about 0.5mm-1mm from 1 of the oil wells on the inside, and as a result the gasket kept blowing every few 1000miles or so at the same place (This is a common fault with them).

The other other common fault on them is the side stand sensor gets clogged with dirt and you cant put it into gear without the bike cutting out (because it thinks that the sidestand is still down). You can easily get this sensor bypassed; just be careful not to ride away with the stand still down.

Hyosungs seem to be really popular in Australia and New Zealand - when searching for parts for them (performance parts or otherwise), you will probably be directed to Aus/NZ sites.

Plenty of stuff out there for them - much more than you would probably expect.

Those gaskets are easy enough to source/replace I'm guessing? Would some of that instant gasket type glue stuff do the trick?

I'm really trying not to be put off 'cause I quite like them Laughing

Well 2 up with Nemo off here, we GPS'd at 86 on a flat and 92 on the speedo Laughing
It had an SV650 airbox + k&n, rejetted carbs to suit and a scorpion can with the exhaust milled out and the collector box gutted.

Its still flying around my area and I never had a problem with it, got it at 3535 miles and sold at 10,000...hes put 8000 on, and its just passed the MOT Thumbs Up
