I suppose it also depends on what you're riding.
If you were say riding a Royal Enfield or a Harley, I'd have said some blurring of the vision would be fairly expected by the time it's struggled its way up to 80mph.
If it was on a CBR600, I'd be surprised.
Be interesting to hear what bike this is on, or if it happens on different bikes at a similar speed. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

The simple cure..... Stop riding at over 80mph!

As said, normally its when going a bit faster than 80mph. Try and ride through it and see what 110 or 120 looks like, it might just be between 80 and 90 it happens ____________________ Current Bikes: Honda CBR 600RR - '07, Suzuki GSX1250 FA ST '11

I guess your brain has a low "Frames Per Second" rate. Or your visor mechanism is fucked.
Mine starts at about 130. ____________________ Boris - London |

Ear-Plugs..... its probably your brain having an empathy surge with the tortured engine!
More seriousely, doesn't sound too good.
But at speed I do tend to get that 'tunnel-vision' effect.....
Bit like in biker-boys where they 'racked' the zoom for the race sequences...... cheap trick, but first time I saw it I DID think, "Yeah! It DOES sort of go like that when you get in the zone"
But then I still have flash-backs to the night my ex told me she was pregnant & I did a very lairy high speed run accross Warwishshire.
(I wont tell you which direction I was going!, though you MAY guess if I say NOW I think it was the WRONG one!).... 50miles in under 25 minutes..... NONE of it on the motorway..... worst bit was about a third of it was through the middle of Coventry!
I still have flash-backs...... its like the Milenium Falcon going into Hyper-Drive...... all the street-lamps sort of blurring into a tunnel of light!
Could it be that at speed you're ryes 'zone-in' on the far distance, and the focal point you are concentrating on is out of kilter to the correction in your contacts?
MIGHT be you have an optical anomoly that riding a bike at speed has picked up, that regular opticians wont.
Could be worth a visit to a specialist..... I mean, at over 80, you NEED all your periferal vision to spot the no-longer yellow Gatso-Boxes! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

There was an article on this a few years ago in Bike magazine. Just had a quick search but couldn't find it online. But there is a medical condition, IIRC it was due to the vibration and the effect it has on the muscles in the eye.
Maybe someone can find a link to it? ____________________ My Bikes: Piaggio NRG| Aprilia RS 125| Suzuki GSX-R 600|Yamaha Fazer Ducati 848
