I don't think i'd like to own it. I'd feel guilty riding it, scared to death of crashing it.

Ha, well I don't have $25k to be throwing around at a bike anyway - but I think they look perfect, add that one is clean.

As nice as it is to keep everything perfect, it is sacrilege for a bike of any kind to have never been ridden!

$24,000? whats that in sterling these days, and how much were they brand new? Seem to recall they were something daft like about £10K for the Original, numbered limited eddition versions, if that's one of them, it's not apreciated much in value over 20 years!

Could be a 'bargain'...... but, just as well I dont have £15K knocking around, or it would be a dilemah crisis of nervouse break-down proportion! I mean, its BUILT to be ridden, but its only worth what it is becouse it hasn't been!

Would love to know the bike's history. I mean how does a bike or car end up this way? Are there seriously private collectors out there who buy bikes with no intention of ever riding them?

I couldn't have a stable of special vehicles and not use them. Does not compute.....

Always liked these......don't remember them when they were new though as I was 6!

what would the bike need to run? Even though its pretty much new id imagine all the fluids would be junk, tyres, hoses etc would be perished etc?

There was an NR750 and a VFR750F, brand new in crates, shown on here a little while back.

Pretty sure they both went on sale, not sure how much for though.

Either way I would have an NR over any form of VFR, the engine is Drooling Drooling Drooling

This one, I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvmnSiVpoH8

I heard they kept one, and sold the other. Not sure which though.

Both bikes are so nice.

Yup. I'm willing to bet most of the Desmosedici's made have been stored in private collections never to be ridden until they are old and rare enough to be worth a fortune. That RC30 isn't yet worth a stupid amount and might never be so depending on how many other have been 'saved'. But imagine if it were Brough Superior, it would literally be worth millions.

Oh, man, that's one nice bike. Back in 1990, when I first saw one, I completely fell in love with it, and it's still my favourite bike of all time, even now. I just think it's the prettiest bike ever.

Don't like the graphics on the tail though. Much prefer the UK "VFR750R" rather than the "RC30". Still, I guess that's the same as waking up next to Megan Fox and noticing that she has a small spot on her chin... Rolling Eyes

Padgetts of Batley have a load of crated bikes that they don't make a special effort to sell. They will sell them if a customer comes in and asks to buy, but apart from that they store 'em. Apparently they've got crated 350LC's and all sorts. I was told that they have at least one type of every bike they've sold, but I'm sure that isn't true - they'd never have the room!

Hi

UK price new was £10599 in 1990. For comparison a CBR600 was £4499 and a VFR750F was £5799.

VFR800 is now £9525, so compared to the VFR750F a 64% increase. Would make an RC30 £17400. Looks like that RC30 has barely held its new value.

Wouldn't say no to one though. In some ways still wish I had gone for one in the mid 1990s when they could be picked up for about £5k.

All the best

Keith
