I have to admit i have always been curious about gearboxes and am thinking of stripping my spare engine to the bone so did a little googlage and found this
"How (most) Motorcycle Transmissions Work"
It certainly helped me graps the basics and figured it might interest anyone looking to expand their engine knowledge Wink

Nice find Thumbs Up

I must admit once i get a newer bike next spring i fancy stripping my GS engine down to get a better understanding of things. Especially as its not worth selling on.

Pffft, not in the gearbox noob!

Everyone knows that the powerbands are fitted in the clocks, thats how they work. They spin at high speeds in the clocks therefore driving the front wheel faster through the speedo cable.
