thanks to the Blue BMW X5 driver this morning on the B4176 heading away from Telford with one car and an AA van in front of him.

After a fairly sharp right hander he decided to over take both the car and AA van but after he pulls out he sees me coming the other way so what does he do............

FCUK ALL thats what and carries on over taking he hadn't even made it past the car by the time we passed each other it was that close to start with.

I didn't do the new test with the swerve maneuver I FCUKING have now at just over 60mph luckily the road is wide enough so i didn't have to go onto the verge (That wouldn't have been pretty!) but i was on the edge of the tarmac.

BAST*RD..... If i ever see you again I'm going to poke your FCUKING eyes out you stupid CNUT.

I'm still a little tense and shaky does it show...........

Thats the closest near miss I've had to date and at those speeds its shook me up a bit!

Ian

These posh gits in their BMW's think they own the road. Its the same with Mercs. I had one of them pull out in front of me. I wouldnt have been too bothered if it wasnt for the fact that he was looking right at me when he done it. If I was on the bike I am on now I would have followed the bugger but a 125 is no match for a merc in a rush.

At least your alive to tell the tale bud. Thumbs Up

Good work on keeping your cool, and coming out the other side alive.

I had my first close shave of the autumn today, filtering through traffic and a silver BMW decides to change lanes with no indication or anything. Hit the brakes hard and rear wheel locked for a second, stayed upright though, luckily.

Bastards.

Can I just point out, that there are arseholes in all makes of car. To be fair though, I can't see any reason on god's green earth why the heck anyone would buy a BMW 'SUV'...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

BMW went flying past me this morning, I was going 30 in a 30, he must have been doing 60, raced o
ff down a residential street with cars parked both sides, in the dark.

Wished there'd been a cop.

Wait, there was! Police van coming the other way, who would have seen his lights swerving around ours AND the speed he was going. Did nothing at all.

I could feel my heart trying to beat out of my chest afterwards!

Its one hell of a shot of Adrenaline when something like that happens.

The police van wouldn't chase you if you were doing the same. If he didnt get the reg theres nothing he can do. You think a police VAN can turn around and then catch up with someone driving like that?

What can you remember about him and the car?
would you recognise them/him/it again?

you never know that may be a regular run for him?, then you could have a "chat"

It looked like a fairly new motor but it could just be well looked after.
I would remember his face because i had a good close look as he was heading for me before i swerved and will be keeping an eye out for him Evil or Very Mad

Shocked Bit scary isn't it!!

Earlier in the year I was on my way to Cadwell and was on some single carriageway straight road about 30 miles south of the track.

There was a queue of cars trundling along behind a lorry. I kept to the right of my lane, and attempted to 'peek round the corner' to see if there was any oncoming cars...

Just as I did the lorry ahead swerved left and a purple fiesta (something about purple fiestas trying to kill me methinks) thundered down the centreline of the carriageway inches past us, mid-overtake alongside an old couple in a Rover!

Needless to say I was slightly shaken but not as scared as the teenagers in the Fiesta looked! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I seem to have something going with Toyota's at the moment.... If there is some Muppet on the A40 / A406 sitting in solid traffic being a pain in the bum hole to filter past, or weaving to the left and right while talking on a mobile or fiddling with a sat nav, its a Toyota...

Glad your OK!

I came home from work last night, was a lorry behind me and 3-4 cars behind that, saw one car start to overtake, then they saw two cars coming towards them, didn't hear a crash, but saw them slam their breaks on.

I've had a couple of close shaves with cars overtaking coming towards me.

Had a very similar experience with a royal mail van. Doing about 80 down a long stretch of straight road, about 2-3 miles long so he would have had time to see me for about a mile but decides not to look and just goes for it, making me slam the brakes on and moved to the left as far as I could almost putting the bike into a verge. The guy then waves his hand to say thanks whilst I'm shouting CUNT as loud as I can, got me shaking so much I pulled over for a minute to calm down.
Agree with you on the feeling of your heart trying to jump out of your chest, nothing gets the hard going when you feel that close to death Laughing

I was in Tesco the other day near the bread aisle.
Just as I rounded the end of the aisle to go down the soup and pasta aisle this dopey twat with a child in tow does a 360 with her trolley full of groceries and almost side swipes my WHSmith carrier bag (that had my MCN comic in FYI.).
Those folk with children should all be shot... Mad

I just thought I'd let everyone know..

had a clencher a few weeks ago,
overtaking a lorry on a dual carridgeway, i knew it was windy, the NSR is basically a light weight wind sail, i saw the gap in the trees coming but never in my wildest dreams thought i would get blown 2/3'rds of the way accross the lane to less than a foot away from the inner curb!
I sware the bike swerved Shocked

Didnt have the oportunity to stop for another 10-15 mins but boy did i stop when i could and have a couple of smokes!

No ones fault but my own, i now just do 60 when its really windy, much over that and it gets hairy Neutral

(Ps, only overtaking close calls i'v had have been in cars, some real T*ats out there though, good to hear you got through it though!
