I leant my supermoto to a mate on Friday and he crashed it 5 times at Lydd (he races supermoto too I think we came to conclusion that my tyres are pants and have no grip)
Thankfully they crash nicely and not /much/ damage, nothing that I'm bothered by anyway ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

not my fault obviously, the throttle stuck.....he believed that too. ____________________ Poking death in the eye with a pointy stick then running away |

Yes, borrowed my mates RD250 when the club was on a run in Donegal (Eire). Snapped the (three way split) throttle cable off at the top nipple
I did help him with an imaginative bodge involving a solderless nipple (always worth carrying in the pocket of your leathers, this one was too big for his bike though), gaffa tape, two jubilee clips and a length of fishing line. Made it all the way back to Edinburgh that bodge did!
Not sure it was entirely my fault though. It was the original throttle cable which was nearly as old as I am and I don't think it had ever been oiled. I was a victim of timing I tell you! Nothing to do with the speed and force of throttle opening ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. A mate insisted that I ride his brand new ZZR1200 around the carpark, against my better judgement. Due to low speed in the carpark, when it came to a corner, I couldn't hold it and ended up laying it down (as opposed to dropping it). I damaged the paintwork on his right hand fairing. I offered to pay, of course, but he insisted that a pint of lager would cover the damage. I bought him a pint and left before he changed his mind!
Another time, I had borrowed a mate's XV125. I was on the M1 when a webbing strap that had fallen off a truck got caught in the chain which broke and took out the swinging arm.
What impressed my mates following me was that I calmly indicated, pulled over onto the hard shoulder and stopped. All they could see was lots of sparks!

Nope never, but then I'm always very careful with other peoples property.
Ok so there was the time on your bike Bendy, but really I was trying to get the back wheel to slide out and the bike to buck about. It was all very controlled and I didn't for a second think 'OH FOOK I'VE STACKED BENDY'S BIKE'.
Anyone thinking of letting me ride their bikes, please don't let this small incident put you off, 99.9% of the time I am very careful not to push too far. ____________________ Gallery |

I dropped the SR125 on my CBT and broke the end of the brake lever off.
Was trying to get the bastard onto the wonky centre stand at the time. |

I was on a mate's CBX550 when a tit in a jam jar deided that although he had indicated to turn off the roundabout & had already started the turn, he was well within his rights to change his mind & come back onto it again.....despite the fact that I was occupying the piece of road that he wanted to be on.
Result, 2 weeks in skin traction for a fractured hip & a written off Honda (well there had to be a good bit to the story! ) ____________________ Karma!! Fuck Karma, I am Satan's little helper.

Two incidents spring to mind. I had learnt how to ride bikes on a hartford legion 125 (12bhp learner 125cc 4t) about 2 years ago, and had only spent an hour or two doing so, slowly in a carpark. Then about a week later, i was pretty much forced on to my mates ktm 250 exc fully race prepped bikie (about 70 brake, 250 2t).
Needless to say tears before bedtime so to speak, pottered down this lane in the middle of a huge clearing that was slightly raised by a foot or so, went to come back, decided to go off road abit, pottered through it, came to a big hole, went to accelerate out a tad, and the front rocketed out and i was in a little power wheelie, i however paniced, and lent back, as doing so opened throttle more ad infinitum. The i bounced over this raised road diagonally at about 40 on one wheel, with the bike caught in its power band, both feet bounced off the pegs so im holding firmly by the bars.
Last thing i remember of that was the bushes rushing at me.
Didnt actually do any real damage to the bike, sides from taking off the last iindicator.
However i had demolished a wire fence, fence post, and flipped myself into a tree had bruises everywhere but walked out of that one.
Oh and i ride it relatively frequently, i can jump it quite well, its the landings i hate, since i try and ride it like a sports bike with loose arms, so i try and avoid taking off, the odd wheely is fun though.
Oh and sadie i know your pain, on the same road as before about 4 months ago i was dragged kicking and screaming into riding his dads bike... which was a gs1150 with full adventure mods (including a 30 litre tank - which happened to be full - at about chest hieght). I was fine rolling down the road at about 50, no issue there, did a nice wide u turn going slightly off road. Went back onto the road, pottered back, tried to do another u-turn but due to the fact it was quite a thin area i leant it. mistake. I had the choice of gritting teeth and accelerating out of it (which would have been risky as 2 foot drop/slope to off roading on both sides of the road as detailed above) or lay it down on the crash bars. Bloody hurt my leg tho, altho no damage to the bike. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

No, I'm very well behaved on other peoples bikes, too scared of dropping it incase I cause too much damage and I'm forced to sell my bike to pay for the damage or something. Some people such as Mike refuse to take it easy and when you let them on your bike come back down the road back firing it then go for knee down even though they know there is something wrong with the handling and crashes could easily happen. @ Mike, thats why I've never let you on the gixxer, you abuse other peoples bikes more than your own!
Colin let me on his ZX6, I took it easy and was very careful not to crash it, Mike also let me on his bike a long time a go and I took it easy for the 50 miles that I rode it and this is how he repays me. |
