You can't bump start an auto! You can only kick start them, however with the ignition off then it shouldn't work. If you have no keys then sorting that out by geting a new barrel and some keys wuld be the easyest way.

I assume you mean hotwire. Hopefully no one on here will tell you this. Buy a new ignition barrel.

Why not use your keys as that what they're for. You can't bump start a bike without the keys in it, and you can't bump start a scooter at all so don't even bother trying. No one is going to tell you how to hot wire a scooter, as that's just giving a guide as to how to steal a scooter, use your brain, no one is going to tell you this!

What do you mean by black cap it? Never heard that term before and neither has anyone else from the replies after it.

I remember once in my young days up on Dartmoor, I had stopped at the side of the road on my moped. the road was very steep downhill, and when I rejoined the road I started the bike and just let it roll down the hill (with scooter idling, as I had never given it any throttle in the first place, so the clutch hadn't engaged), I must have been doing about 25mph when all of a sudden the bike lurched like mad (nearly throwing me off) and the clutch engaged without warning. So I guess it is possible to bump start a scooter (have to be going pretty fast, and I would imagine it doesn't do the CVT much good) but you still arn't going to manage it without the keys Laughing .

To bump a scooter you'd have to get the transmission spinning fast enough to engage the centrifugal clutch.

So possible, but as that kiddy above me said, you'd need 25mph or so

Without meaning to be rude, is it even YOUR scoot. Tis nigh on impossible to bump start a scoot unless you're going down Harrow on the Hill at which you can possibly obtain 25 - 30 mph. A new lock and barrel should not cost you more than 30 quid so give it a go. What model is your scooter if i may ask?

If you *have* stolen that scooter,
Then you deserve to die a horrible and painful death.

No one will tell you how to hotwire it.

well, I might do if you come to Reading and ask... Twisted Evil

You need to get two bits of metal.... holding one in each hand, place one on the +ive side of the battery terminals and the other on the - ive side of the battery... you must use something metal and you have to hold the metal bit itself else it won't work! But it'll get that scoot shifting again.........make sure you let us know how it goes Smile

I think that you really should get some keys and kickstart it? (If it has a kickstart, some don't.)
