especially when this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HLvz2c8SnQ comes on when you are bored on the motorway.

All of a sudden I'm Rabbit leader and every German car is a messerschmit.

Swooping behind them making dakadakdaka noises overtaking imagining them crashing into the scenery and burning. Its funny how my riding changes with what im listening to.

Yes. Im sad.

But its fun!

My driving, and even my walking (even my sitting still) are so affected by whatever song is on, its embarrassing to be sitting next to me on the tube.

I wouldn't dare wear an iPod on the bike.

I need to hear what I can of the road, and not be lost any further in the murky mists that surround planet hellkat, than I already am Laughing

If I were in an accident that was caused by someone who had one, I would do my very best to get up, broken legs or not, and punch their fucking lights out.

Next helmet might be a blue tooth one, but I definitely wont wear headphones again. Blocks out to much road noise and just makes me focus on the music to much.

I tried a Blue tooth helmet with my mobile giving it some Ministry of Sound chill out mix, wasn't too bad. Tried it once with headphones in. Suddenly the headphones were all I could hear and I found myself riding more to the music. Next helmet might be a blue tooth one, but i definitely wont wear headphones again. Blocks out to much road noise and just makes me focus on the music to much.

That is why this track and similar others from that album....Actually the whole album, i banned from my stereos in the car and mp3 player on bike, had an arse twitching moment in the car that could of ended very badly, I then stopped, took a breath and told myself to calm the fuck down, but before that I was a driving god in the zone lol

tbh earplugs block out road noise better than my headphones.

maybe I'm different but listening to music doesn't make me ride like a twazzock, it can give me a slightly heavier right foot/hand when on the motorway for example but ultimately I don't throw road sense out of the window.

I do turn it off though when doing particularly tricky manouveres or need to take extra care.

i'm looking for a decent helmet speaker set as having the faff of trying to put my helmet on without my headphones being squeezed out as I do so is a pain. anyone have any recommendations?

Its not just the blocking of noise I found though. It blocks noise and makes me focus more on the music more than my riding. Embarassed

I absolutely hate not being able to hear the engine noise. Cant stand riding with plugs or music.

I find it strange that people would want to drown out all the noise around them tbh, I find it's a massive factor in how I ride.

Confused

I love listening to music, but I hate having wind noise interfere with the sound making me have to concerntrate harder on the music, so I never ride with an ipod. Would be good in a car though! I can't say music makes me an aggressive driver, I don't listen to aggressive types of music like rock and the like Smile

The worst songs that have slow bits, then fast bits, and you find yourself slowing down, waiting for the fast bit, then blasting it down the road, maybe one-wheeling it Wink

The worst offenders are these two

Even though Night Train by guns n roses is about alcohol and drug addiction... on the bike it has a whole different meaning to me.

Always ride round town or on the motorway with music on. Never had an issue with concentration and it doesnt seem to change how i ride.

The first day I listened to music on the bike using my cx300's as recommended by you guys, I almost got tossed off the bike at 50mph when I almost highsided, but what was more scary was that although it phased me, I kept riding as hard as I was previously. I don't know, maybe it was a pride thing.

I was considering making a similar thread when this happened but never got round to it.

Have you ever actually used plugs for more than one trip?

Everyone slates ear plugs, but ride around for a few hundred miles with them in, and you won't go back.

Couldn't agree more with this thread. Not so much the going mad bit but definately the concentration. I use it on my pushbike and I find myself spending more time looking over my shoulder to see if anythings coming than I do looking forward. Guess I should turn it down so I can hear the traffic a bit but if its turned down, why wear it? I managed to hear an rs125 come screaming past me yesterday though Shocked

Oh, and you lot dont half listen to some shit Laughing

I used to try it on a pushbike and scared the crap out of myself.

Problem was on a bicycle the headphones are completely in my ear and I could hear nothing else but music, on my motorbike the headphones get squished out of my ears enough that I could probably fit earplugs at the same time due to my helmet, that I can clearly hear road noise as well as the music. Nowhere near as scary. Smile

When I used to commute into London, I tried them for about 2 weeks or so, and just couldn't get on with them.
