Kawasaki zx6r 1995 rear brake caliper

Hey guys,
wondering if someone could explain to me what I need to resolve the mess I've made.

Last night I was swapping the pads on my '95 zx6r,
front went fine but I cocked up the rear...

I took the old pads out which where down to the metal and tried pushing the piston back into the caliper to make room for the new pads which are obviously alot thicker, the piston wouldn't budge so I thought i'd pump the brake slightly to push the piston out, give it abit of a lube and try and push it back in that way hoping to free it up but I proceeded to pop the piston out completely and dump aload of dot 4.

Anyways the seal inside the caliper is still in place but the seal around the piston came out with it and im not sure how I can get it back in or if it's even ok to put it back in once its popped out.

My friend was telling me when I spoke to him that I would need to get the calpiper rebuilt completely!? Is this the case =/

I downloaded a manual for the bike and it has a section about overhauling the caliper and it appears to me that i can just put the piston seal into the goove where the caliper seal is already sitting then push the piston in. ?

Also now i've dumped alot of dot 4 (will look at the resevoir today and see how much is gone) but will it need bleeding and refilling now as I don't trust myself to do this and will need to get down the mechanics...

You'll need to give the groove where the seal fits a good clean and preferably use new seals too. Rear calipers tend to mess up earlier than front ones due to lack of use and the fact that they pick up more crud from the back wheel.

you need to take the other seal out get all the bits of crud cleaned out
and put the seals back in use rubber grease it will help alot
(red grease) it will need bleeding there is no way out of that
i would say its an easy job but i am a bike tech
bleeding the rear brake is the easy one
if i was closer i would do it for you

ok if you want i will pm you my email address and before you put the piston back in send me a picture and i can see if you have the seals in right if you had a lap top i could use the web cam to guide you through it

just had a thought i am going to stafford tomorrow will be going up the a50 to the m5 is that near you
also with the brake fluid if you use dot5.1 synth it dont matter if it gets on your paint and has a higher boiling point
