You dont HAVE to pass a test within two years, you can simply repeat CBT, but TBH it doesn't make much sense, cheaper to take the test, & if you cant pass within two years, really you ought to be thinking whether you should be riding at all!
Also, dont bother with the light riders licence. Same test as an A2 restricted licence, taken on a 125, but taken on a smaller bike. Just means you cant ver ride anything bigger. Do the A2, you STILL dont 'have' to ride a bigger bike, but you can ride up to a 33bhp machine, and after two years that restriction lapses and you can ride anything.

Your 27, have a provisional, and the bike is a YBR125..... not much to go on from the squillion of Q's they ask you to fill out on insurance comparison web-sites, is it?!?!
125's attract a loading premium as they are very nickable. Whether you get Third-Party or TPFY will make a big difference, as will the Excess you accept, the use and miles you propose for the vehicle, where you live & where you keep it, as well as declared value of the bike.
As your 'main' means of transport, with say declared mileage of about 9k (high for a bike), with 'including commuting' clause on the policy, anything under £200 would be pretty cheap.
Lots of 'cheaper' policies these days work on the fact that a lot of bikes are used only for leisure, so see low miles, on sunny days, aren't left in works car-parks or on teh street for 8hr working day, & used in loonie rush-hour traffic.
Commuter miles AND commuting clauses, can really bump up the price, as will having it declared as your main mode of transport, becouse they have to cover ALL risks and used bradly, there'll be a lot more of them.
We did a load of comparisons on different bikes for Snowtigeress when we were trying to work out what she might go for, and the range of quotes was HUGE even on the same bike, and theres an AWFUL lot of caveots in the small print on different policies.
Its just a completely open question, your best bet is to 'go-compare' and pound the yeyboard on a few compairison sites and see what you come up with.
As a googlie, while you are at it though, chuck in a quote for having a CB500 of similar value, say a 1999 model, worth about a grand, and prsume you'll have done DAS and got a full, unrestricted licence to ride it.
Its often LESS to insure a bigger bike, as a fully qualified and unrestricted rider, than it is a 125, as you fall into a lower risk catagory both for accidents AND theft.
If you want to test that one, presume DAS & Full unrestricted licence, again, but get quote the YBR.... it'll be less than on a provisional & CBT, but not by much.
Security devices are another one that effect premiums, but curiousely we discovered that having the supposedly approved imobilisers and stuff, often made little or no difference to actual premium. Certainly not enough to justify the cost.
Most ecconomical solution we found was to declare 'unspecified' security devices, disc-lock and alarm imobiliser, as it implies security conciouseness, and drops the premium usefully, without having to fork out for a four hundred quid alarm system and £150 lock and chain, to save an extra tenner!
Other one is these Bike sheds. You can get a bike storage locker for about £200. Like a metal trucnk you can wheel your bike into and lock witha pad-lock. According to some insurance companies that classes as 'garaged' and can significantly drop the premium, though again, depends on the ball-park you are in whether its useful or ecconomical or not.
