Been riding today did around 65 miles of b roads at a range of speeds.

On a 30 road riding nicely home i become aware of a severe vibration so i pull over.

Sitting on the stand at idle i can hear a nock at random intervals which sounds like its coming from the cylinder head, so upon browsing the internet i read about 'Piston Slap' would my bike randomly start to do this? would it have anything to do with the severe vibrations coming from the bike that increase with revs, not road speed?

Can have the bike in neutral idling and can hear knock then when rev bike it vibrates from as low as 2000rpm all the way up.

My bike was running spot on but on the ride i did notice the exhaust was blowing at the manifold and got increasingly worse.....is this a clue?

I would really appreciate any advice as i know there are a few very knowledgeable people on here.

What sort of mileage is on the bike

Sounds like it could be a big end failure to me (probably wrong, usually am Laughing)

what has that got to do with a kettle of fish??
is that just a random comment, or do you think there is some basis for further investigation in there some where??.

its a 2 stroke, so at idle, the gear box (where all the oil is located) is not in use at all,

my money is on top or bottom end bearings,
either way, pull you head and cylinder off,. you'll be able to tell whats next on the to do list from there,
hopefully its just the small end bearing,
and you'll get away with a piston change (piston kit comes with small end bearing)
