First of you to spot and photo some white trash OTT Xmas decorations this year receives karma blobs. It is near half way through October so it will not be long before the chavs from your local estate decorate their houses with inflatables and enough lights for a small airfield.

There's a house near to where I live which has a christmas decoration on it all year round, been there for the past 3-4 years if I remember correctly. The family who live there are chav/tramps and the old man is bat shit crazy. Fun times.

Sun Inn at Norwood leaves the icicles up:

Clicky

Welcome Friends Chinese Restaurant has it's Christmas Tree up:
Clicky. That used to illuminate all year round in the late 1990's/early 00's. Now all the bulbs have blown.

Also, Middleton Manchester has it's Christmas decorations up on the lamp posts. Not looked at Leeds yet but the switch on is November the 6th so they'll be up too.

There's a street near me that each year every house goes completely OTT with decorations and people come from all over to look at it, there's a charity box at the end of the street for people to donate, not sure what their donating to - probably to poor bastards who have to pay the electricity bill!

they've even got their own website... https://www.twinklepikeway.co.uk/

There was a house in Seacroft off York Road in Leeds which did that. Turned out he was powering them from the streetlight outside his house.

Yes it was. They even invited people in and also took charity donations. The house looked just as bad inside apparently. It was on Look North.

Bollocks.

It's an excuse for people to be dissapointed you've not bought them enough / the right things and to improve my already impressive sock collection.

(The only good point is seeing the kids enjoying it and the look on their faces when they get a personal message from santa (from a website linked on here last year!) - if it wasn't for them i'd bugger off on holiday from dec 15th to jan 15th!)

Its all a big fat fake.

People becoming offended that you didn't send them a card with some crappy insincere message scrawled within when they sent me one, I didn't ask for one, at what point was I soliciting for such a thing?

Either I like you or I don't care one way or the other, I'm not sending a card either way.

I had an idea about that, honest greetings cards. I get cards from people at work who detest me (the feeling is usually mutual.) In them can be found messages of good cheer and well wishes for the future.

How about a card with the message inside along the lines of: Merry Christmas you utter cunt! Have a nice robin or snow man on the front, it'll make the message within all the more jarring.

I hate the hypocrisy of it, its an incredibly disingeuous time of year.

Wink

Bloody right, I hate Christmas, bugger all that goodwill and bonhomie.

My wife has insisted I accompany her to England again this Christmas and will (again) be pissed off by my completely anti-social behaviour and frequently stated desire to go home. Still, at least I'll get a few bottles of cheap whisky on the way home.

I just look forward to a good slap up meal a few beers and a nap, oh and the near fortnight off work and the new years piss up. I don't care for the shops bellowing out the SAME DAMN SONGS OVER AND OVER!!! as if we don't get the message with all the decorations and crap.

Yeah, I guess I could do with a few more pairs of bloody socks. Probably what I hate about being almost 30, I'll be getting a new pipe and a pair of slippers soon.

I'm generally grumpy on the run-up to Christmas. However, on the day when I'm sat beside a fireplace with my girlfriend and the animals, knowing there's no chores that day and I get to play board games later, I'm quite serene. I hate admitting that. Laughing

Even the indoor decorations, when kept within limits don't upset me. Of course, this will be the 5th Christmas I've managed to avoid spending with any family which adds to my happiness. I like getting silly presents that are utterly worthless or puzzles to keep me busy for half a day, and I genuinely like buying stuff to make my girlfriend happy (a couple of years ago we spent £100 each on sex toys etc out of a total £200 budget).

In short:
Socks, warm things and board games = do want
Cards, tacky decorated gardens, overly cheery cunts for 2 months and busy shops = do not want.
