Blatent advertising is not something that goes down well.

Now if you were to put something simple in your sig, and then post constructive answers etc in threads it would be far better than simply just joining up and posting a add such as you have

Hang on!! I struggle my bollox off day in day out working in an industry i love just to be around bikes, i advertise on many forums and meet many a laid back biker who wouldnt really give a toss about name dropping a service i offer or a few bike parts i have for sale? Does it really justify getting hot under the collar about, there is no point putting parts on ex & mart as its not an area generates much in the way of work.

A1: my bloke has a similar small business, he transports all kinds of stuff round the place, both here and across Europe/Scandinavia ... including MANY bikes, as he has over 30 years experience of riding and handling bikes.

(last week I helped him cart one of those mad Italian three wheeler flatbed things to Stoke on Trent, it was very cute) - so I do know just how hard you probably work, and the frustrations involved.

BUT ...


... as now kindly pointed out above by Ariel, one of the rules of this particular forum is NO SPAM. And people come down very hard on those who do.

So if you joined as a viable member, cos you love bikes, and you eventually got round to pointing out that your job was exactly what you say it is, then it would be easier for people to accept. But as it turns out, you've just jumped right in with both feet into probably a hornets nest, cos its unlikely people will give you the benefit of the doubt now.

I joined because recently i started using a big local forum WILTSHIRE BIKERS and there was no issue about slipping in the odd sale or service? and as it started generating more interest than my adds in performance bikes etc, so i thought id ease my way into another couple of forums and reapeat the process its not mercinary its called networking??

You got to ease your way in like a greased dildo in this place, else you'll be bent over and have the spam inserted in your bottom very painfully.

We all network, but there is a difference between chatting about bikes (or indeed anything, cos we fair do chat some proper old shit in this forum at times) and just diving right in with an ad for your company, I'm surprised other forums haven't had a go as well, although this one in particular is pretty hot on it - your first and only post being blatantly nothing but advertising for your company.

Possibly, REALLY, we'd like to see what sort of bikes you have, or are interested in, cos we're more interested in you as a biker than as a bike transporter. Yeah, its a useful thing to know who transports bikes, and there are certainly occasional queries about that, even on this forum. But this is a very social forum which detests spammers.

As a side issue, you need to separate the email address from the website address in your signature, as they are both currently linked into one long mess. Put a space in between the dash separating the email and the website address.

He has a business to run, he's busy driving and running round after prats who are wondering where their bikes are, even though they only want to pay the cheapest price possible ... he probably hasn't got time to learn how to put up some fancy website.

WOW!! I cant belive the diverse response, seriously some of you people need help, to get that wound up about a guy plugging his business is not healthy. I work hard and times get tough in the winter months so i move from track days and moto x events to breakdown and recovery or storage, i plug on a few sites to generate work, the funny thing is all you mugs that shout and swear and play the "we are proper bikers" card help me out cos more people start looking at the threads???

its ok just stick it in the correct section next time. the reason we have very little spam on here is because it is dealt with immediatly bythe community. dont take it so personally just do the right thing and put it in exchange and mart section, then apologize for your error, move on with life...

If you join a forum and haven't read the rules, but break one, you apologise after being told and then obey the rules.

Arguing that they are stupid rules and other places dont have those rules, will not win you friends or business.

All spammers are just hardworking folk trying to generate business. I say this having been a human spammer doing cold calling telesales.

We have a section on this forum where you post if you want to get money from people. This is not it.
