Seal savers/neoprene gaiters for USD forks

Want to get some for my WR250F.

I have measured the tube diameter and it is 46mm, the it where the seals go in are 64mm dia.

Firstly that is quite a stretch if the neoprene tubes are not tapered and secondly (and the one that really gets me asking this) the WR has fork protectors bolted on there, so I am not sure I can fit them ...

Anyone got them on a WR? if so what size did you get (seems 45mm and 50mm available on the e of the bay).

just clamp the original fork guards over the top of the neoprene gaiters?

Already thought of that, but I don't think the clamp bolt will align with the neoprene under it, so I won't be able to do it up again ...

I reckon it would still line up ok, I have a DRZ400S and I have fitted neoprene fork gaiters like those ebay ones.

I fitted a CNC alloy fork brace over the top of the gaiters and the mounting bolts for the fork brace all lined up fine, the neoprene squashes down fairly slim.

They will fit - just need to use a longer bolt but not tighten it too much so as to split the clamp.

Did it last winter and worked fine.

On a WR250?

If the answer to the above is yes, then what size saver (45mm or 50mm) did you get?

The guy I sold my beloved WR to fitted neoprene gaiters .... I will see him on Sat and find out the details.

I got these ones, quality was ok, I suspect they were 45mm or there abouts as to get them on I had to drop the forks out of the yolk.

It was a snug fit - but that's what you want

Just to let you all know (and so if someone searches, they get the info).

I got a pair of the 'factory' 45mm jobs in the end - Black Savers 45mm, part number = 43-100.F1 - to give the exact details.

They fitted my 55 plate WR fine and indeed with some longer bolts the plastic brackets bent round to shape ok Thumbs Up
