Simple quick question for those of knowledge.

Do I use brake fluid or red rubber grease to lubricate the seals and pistons?
It would seem that there is a division of opinion on this matter across the various internet forums and between the people I have spoken to.
I'm hoping the new seals and pistons will arrive in the morning and would like to rebuild using the most favoured option.

Thanks in advance, for any time on the matter from you clever people.

brake fluid will do the trick. it just helps lubircate everything!

Brake fluid when you assemble everything then the red rubber grease as a protective coating on the exposed bits of pistons and seals when it's all back together.

^This makes the most sense. It means you don't contaminate the brake system with the grease, and you get the better protection of the grease when it's all assembled, as it'll hang around longer than a little bit of brake fluid. Silicone grease works well too I've found. Doesn't melt and go runny either, and doesn't solidify like most greases. Bit pricey though.
