I dislike many bicycle riders as simply they come out of junctions without looking. Some are ok but quite a few are quite bad about this....

My biggie issue is that this behavior appears to have spread to L plate riders, not once not twice but three times today I had an L plater just shoot out of a junction and not even glance my way on slip road type merge roads.

I was in the car and could have made mince meat out of them. I think they were lucky that I was still in bikey mode and being suspicious of such junctions and therefore keeping an eye out. Has anybody else noticed this happening near them?

I see stupidity (lack of experience / teaching?) quite regularly from L-plate riders.

I've said it before - allowing people on the road with just a CBT is asking for trouble as the majority of L-plate riders have no road sense. I guess its getting worse as the volume of traffic increases - it gives much less room for error.

I'm an L plate bike rider and i often see others riding mentally or just stupidly... But i try and ignore it because i know full well I've made my mistakes in learning, how crucial it is not to make mistakes!

I saw a moped rider a week or so back who was filtering like his life depended on it and he nearly rode head on into an oncoming bus!
I held my breathe for a second.

I cycle more miles in the average week than I motorcycle at the moment, usually about 17 miles per day. And to be honest I find it more dangerous than riding my motorcycle. People pull some stupid shit all around you for instance the classic overtake you just before a left junction and turn in - infront of you!

But I do have to agree - most cyclists have no fookin idea how the rules of the road work. I'm the exception because I ride in a similar way I would ride My motorbike.

yea most have no road sense. CBT goes some way towards helping but the 16yr old I did my cbt with had no idea what so ever, didn't even understand how roundabouts worked Neutral
dont think anyone gets shown how roads work when they get to bike riding age now

Just a bad case of lack of road sense. I am not prejudiced about it. I think a good 80% of road users are idiots.

I find in London if i am on a push bike everyone acts like a dip stick around me. Same with L plates. Some of the dumbest and most aggressive overtakes imaginable.

I always feel there is a need for sweeping changes to road users and the current state of the roads in the UK. I think the whole attitude towards roads, road use, and road safety royally sucks in this country.

This.

Thats just the way of life, most road users have no common sense where ever you go.

ANY other road used appears near you...

"oh look, a car.. what's the stupidest thing he could do?"
*thinks of something monumentally idiotic*
"yes thats gotta be it"

...

"oh no i was wrong.. THAT was the stupidest thing he could do"

many a time. many many a time.

Theres a scrote bag/chav on L plates i've almost hit twice near the roundabout near you. First time he was carrying a pillion. both times he filters through on the curbside of stationary traffic and dives out when i was about 3 metres away from passing his junction at 30mph. Both times had to swerve or brake to avoid. He's normally on a blue and orange speedshite in full trackies. If he does it again im just gonna run him over.

I am also an L plate ride. I try and be a Christian motorist. Sometimes I may get impatient or get the red cloud. I feel so guilty when I do however, that I try not to make a habit of it. I still make stupid arse mistakes that I wish I could turn the clock back on. But these experiences however terrifying, I must use to learn upon.

This seems to be standard practise at this type of junction. They just seem to think that have right of way and barge their way in to the traffic....

I get fed up of someone pulling out of the slip and then continue on at a slow speed, instead of speed up to the rest of the traffic.....
