Its my 18th on Friday (30th) so need 2 redo my CBT, am gonna take my full test earlyish next year as am gonna do my car liecence very soon so cant afford it all now plus i just bought a car, and new leathers and have 2 insurance bike and car. How much am i gonna be expecting 2 pay for my CBT ? also what do u need on ur bike, full size L plate, reg plate, mirrors? u think i would be ok going with my reg and L like this?....

Get full size L's and mirrors on. And keep the mirrors on after - they are kinda useful.

Dont you look behind you?

It costs around £90 to do a CBT and around £70 is you use your own bike. However, i was told that a RS isnt the best bike to do a CBT on as the turning circle is so wide on them.

Would you prefer the look of having mirrors on the bike, or no mirrors on a bike thats under the wheels of a cage cos you didn't see it?

The turing circle is bad but am saw i can manage it, i am gonna book it at the same place as i done my CBT the first time as u have a school playground 2 ride around so its pretty wide Very Happy

I have a front 1 thats behind the screen. Take it easy girls i was just asking i know its not as safe not having mirrors but there are other people who don't have them, u just look over ur shoulder it lifesavers all the time thats all.

You need a full size visible L plate front and rear. Not stuck on the pillion seat facing the sky, and not behind the screen. Put a stick on one on front of the screen, and drill a couple of holes in the bottom of your numberplate to bolt a solid plastic one on there.

Use mirrors. If I was a CBT instructor and someone turned up on that bike, I'd be asking them to use one of the school SR/CG125s or to go home.

full size plate needed also.

A test cost 45 quid, a cbt costs 90ish. Its cheaper to do your test twice, and if you fork out 90 quid now for a CBT you still have a full test to take. Does that strike you as a bit silly?

I thought your CBT certificate lasted three years. As the earliest you could have done your original CBT was 16, how come it has expired?

Just discovered on the DSA site:

All DL196 certificates issued before 1 February 2001 are valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

A DL196 certificate issued after 1 February 2001 validating a provisional moped or provisional motorcycle entitlement lasts for 2 years. CBT will have to be re-taken if both theory/practical tests are not passed within the 2-year certificate life.

A DL196 certificate validating a full moped entitlement is not subject to expiry.

I think i will stick full size L plates on front and back and a full size reg plate and mirrors, i surpose they would be abit funny with me all day if i didn't have non of them keep him sweet.
