 |
|
I have read many of the forums of people on bigger bikes who travel the whole of the UK.
Myself, I still only on my provisional still do a decent trip on my 125. So i am suggesting a coast to coast trip for 125 owners.
Starting from Largs on the west coast and travel through to Musselburgh on the east coast. 96.2 miles approx 2 hours 30 mins long. A decent ride for beginners. With 1 break half way through the trip at Newmains tesco. NO MOTORWAY.
This will be a return trip there and back. And hopefully will be taking place in March. So leave a comment to see what you think.
Any questions just ask away folks cheers ____________________ A couple of the sound that I really like,

Nice trip for you, if you don't want to take in Skye. Its about 556 miles but you don't have to do it in a day.

I went all round Scotland on my Enfield bullet this summer.
From Ruthwell in the south to the Point of Stour in the North and all points inbetween.
Travelling at a 50mph cruising speed, I arrived at each fuel stop approximately 5 minutes after my mates who were on superbikes. Technically, I'd have been quicker because I only needed to fuel up at every other stop.
Your 125 is faster than my bullet.
I wouldn't consider anywhere in Scotland to be out of range for a 125. Mate of mine has done Galashiels to Orkney (via the Gills Bay ferry) on an H100 several times, one of then 2-up for the way home. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. Aye man why not. I am in a similar position i have my lessons monday to friday next week then my mod1 sunday, hopefully i will pass.
Its just really to avoid the cold weather. I HATE riding in the winter.
@Stevie GooGs
You know what man i might have to take you up on that. Would you mind if i were to bring my dad as well??
I think it will really be a father son thing
@stinkwheel
Could you possibly get me the route that your mate took please. I would mind having a look at it myself. ____________________ A couple of the sound that I really like,

Nothing too fancy. A7, to Edinburgh, over the bridge, M90 to Perth, A9 to Thurso, A836 to Gills Bay. If you're on L-plates, you'd have to go around the M90 which is a bit of a scutter, maybe A823 from Rosyth to Auchterader and join the A9 there.
He usually split the journey over 2 days, stopping around Inverness. It's a long haul in one day on any bike (6.5 hours without any stops). ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

DO IT DUDE
A couple of mates (all on L plates) went for the Brighton Burn Up from London.
We took some nice A roads there running up about 150 miles.
We did get lost at one point but it was worth it for the type of roads we got to ride.
As I see it A/B roads are better than motorway as it too long and boring.
good luck
One of you bring a cool kit just in case |

IMO, life is for experiencing new things, and making worthwhile memories etc
So if you have the opportunity, go for it!!  ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N
