I don't think anyone in the history of hotmail has checked their account as often as I'm doing today!
I had an informal chat with a prospective employer last week to get back into an industry which I have 4 1/2 years experience of and am dying to return to. They're having a meeting sometime this week to discuss staffing needs following the creation of a new department and will let me know if they have a job for me.
I saw some of my mates who are in the same industry at the weekend and the rumour is that I'm moving to this new company! So I think I'm just waiting for confirmation, but don't want to get my hopes up too much *sigh*

Just had to share my burden.... Sad

I work in recruitment and it is a funny time at the moment - a lot of people are away and doing jollies so there are delays all over the place regarding decisions and hiring people. My advice is sit tight and if you have not heard from them by the end of the week then a friendly 'remember me' email would not go amiss! Thumbs Up

I'm waiting to hear the result from an interview I had a week ago. I hate the waiting.

Good luck to you both.

I've just started the job-search thing again 'cause I hate it in here. What I hate about looking for a new job is the lack of response you get from some companies. Fair enough if they mention in their adverts something along the lines of "if you have not heard from us within two weeks, your application has been unsuccessful" at least then you know, but I hate when you apply somewhere and you don't even get an acknowlegement - if you're not successful even a F*CK OFF would do!!

As a recuiter - I reeally empathise with people who get no response. Apart from it being bad manners, my view is that the person you don't reply to is the next potential MD of your biggest client, so I respond to everyone - well I don't Mike does on my behalf Wink

The only people I don't respond to are Chinese shop owners who want to become Marketing Director of Unilever or some other brief we are handling - they really are taking the Michael (no pun intended)

Good luck Cath!

I just heard that I got the job I went for, which I'm chuffed to bits about. Moving from Pharmacy to Psychology.

Just means I'll be losing £11k from my salary (I just can't get used to the idea)

a very happy Very Happy and very sad Sad day for me!

Cath... you didn't get it.

Razz

Much better that way I find, then you aren't so disapointed if you don't and it seems all the better if you do Smile.

You might not like to hear this, but it doesn't get better (5 years after giving up contracting and I am still getting under half what I was).

All the best
