Recommendations for parts/fluids

Looking at some clean fluids for teh motorbike. It's being rebuilt and flushed of all the old fluids, and the old man can't remember what oil he last used in it over a year ago.. *slightly annoyed* Evil or Very Mad

The bike is a Honda VFR750FL (1990).

Anyone recommend the oil they use in their bike or what may run the best?

Also looking at a chain and sprocket kit (maybe going for a +/- sprockets if anyone can recommend a setup or wether an O-ring or DID chain would be better would appreciate it too.

I use Motul 5100 10W40. 5 liters for 30 pounds delivered on ebay.
(actually they are all the same but buying something decent is cheap insurance)

Go into your local Halfords and ask for a Trade card,they give them to anyone.
Save a fair bit on oil with that.

For the record i`d use 10/40 Semi synthetic in the bike.
