Slow cranking :(

Well, I've just got in from work tonight. And when I started the bike up, the starter motor was really slow, when I set off to work at 1pm it started fine and spinning the starter nice and fast.

I believe my R/R is ok, could a night this cold, cause a battery to perform so poorly? I don't think it's a great quality battery in, the owner before me apparent;y had it replaced about 6 months ago, but he only rode it about 400miles per year.

Would like a second opinion before I spend £50 on a battery, as I inted to use the CBR600F all through winter,

check the battery with a multimeter. should read close to 13v
charge the battery

Most bike shops will check the your battery for you.
I always say could you please check my battery before I buy a new one from you.

I had a spark changed for free once off a nice mechanic. I needed a special tool for it which I didn't have.
I did buy a few things though too.

A multimeter on the battery when turned off, when it is turning over and finally when running is the best thing to do here.

It does sound like a weak battery though ...

turned over fine now it's a bit warmer. Guess it's new battery time then

how were the volts? not running and running voltages
