I have a tatty greyish seat at the moment on my Honda NT650V however was going to recover it at a later day but just for the moment wondering if shoe dye or fabric colour dyes would work?

as far as i can tell it is manmade plasic / vinyl

I've never found anything that works on seats to be honest. I once tried vinyl paint and it looked worse than the tatty original and started flaking off almost immediatly.

The cheapest way is probably another seat off ebay.

You seem to be having to do a lot to bring that bike up to standard. For what you paid i'd have hoped it was perfect.

"bumper back/black" works but it makes the seat very slippery for a while.

Well i ordered some Vinyl spray paint to try it.

Not done much on the bike TBH just cosmetic , so far painted the back end fairings oil filter,spark plugs, front pads, fuel fiter, and the seat none of it needed to be done but thought it would be best doing it now rather than later.

To be expected on a bike i got for this price.

Will upload a pic of before and after and let you know how i got on with the seat

lol i was on my first scoot years back and i back to blacked the seat. my street is a long down hill slope to a T junction. ped boi full throttle down it. got to the bottom and ended up sat on the battery cover! it hurt....
