Yay! I'm a biker....just!!

After 4 pathetic attempts at riding my bike and staying in a 2 mile radius of my house- I did it! Escorted by 2 other cruisers I made it to Whiteways lodge (6 and a half miles) where other bikers meet, and had a coffee. Fellas even went over to look at my bike but not sure if they were wondering what the hell it is or admiring it though! Wink

We then went through Storrington and Shoreham (35 miles total) and when the leader took the turning for the A27 to head for home, my stomach flipped!! Nooooooooo! BIG ROAD- LOADS OF TRAFFIC- LITTLE BIKE!! Sick

Well, I am delighted to say that not one car closed my safe distance between the leader and I, I was not cut-up by anyone when lane merging and over-all I had a damned fine ride out and my confidence has grown! Basically I was buzzing, felt safe and reach 65 miles ph! Thumbs Up

Still can't find neutral on standing though!! Thumbs Down

just got back from a weekend blast to the pub to see the old man :O. pretty soon you won't be able to keep off the bike, did you try just knocing it into neutral from second? can be quite fiddly, sometimes takes me 4 or 5 seconds to find it when its cold and i've been riding this bike a year and a half now.

I already posted on here about not finding neutral and had lots of replys and suggestion on how to deal with it. Tried allsorts- clutch adjustment, tipping, oil, rocking, rolling, blipping......!! Smile

Bugger knows what on earth possessed me to do such a thing. It remains one of the most ridiculous things I've ever done on the road, all these years later.

I still remember my first time on the busy roads of London... I think its safe to say I was sh!ting myself. But after a couple of rides I feel up for anything now.

Even went down to Brighton a month or so go and it was ace.

Fortunately the horse didn't go mental but the rider gave me a filthy look. But riding a horse on a public road is a ridiculous thing to do, IMHO. If a dog craps on the path, the owner has to pick it up. If a horse takes a massive dump in the middle of the road, they just leave it there. I've nearly killed myself because of horse shit at least twice.

Maybe it was that same bloody horse from my first day on the road, thinking about it Neutral

Local people?

I am in Worthing, Not that I get my bike out that often really even though it is my only motorised transport.

I seem to prefer cycling at the moment and can often be seen cycling between Worthing and Littlehampton.

Well if you are using the A259 then you no doubt will have done. If you do see me, please refrain from knocking me off my bike - it hurts.

Otherwise I would be on a Red ZX9R probably going a little faster than I should be.
