Nearly got destroyed by a police chase yesterday.

Was riding home, i was about to turn into the estate where i live and it is a right turn so i have to cross the lane of oncoming traffic, i stopped and i was just about to go when a Mercedes Sprinter (basically a HWB transit with a turbo) came hurtling round the corner at about 80 mph, closely followed by 3 police skoda traffic cars, and 2 of the hatchback focus cars.

They all overtook a car that was crawling along the curb (keeping out of the way) by this time i had moved to the side of the road and i was just contemplating making the right turn when another skoda went flaying past.

Anyway this car that was going slow was level with me by now so there was about a 10 foot gap of clear road between us and he wound down his window and we both exchanged words such as "wonder what all that was about" etc and then i heard some more sirens and two focus estate cars came flying through the gap between us at well over 80mph and being as i was so close to them it seemed like they were going about 180 mph. The only equivilent thing i can think of would be to stand with your feet on the edge of the platform at a train station while a passenger train comes through at full speed.

It was very scary

Oddly enough, they won't respond like that to e'diots using there mobile phones while driving Thumbs Down .

Ive only seen one police chase, they were after some chavs in a D reg BMW 3 series and they were going some though Exeter City! It's scary to think how easy a biker, family in a car or an old dear crossing the road could be killed in situations like this. Glad you weren't! Smile

You should go to the police station and Rant at them. Ask to speak to the chief constable. Don't take any of that "Our officers are highly trained drivers" crap because it does NOT take that many cars to chase one van. I'm sure that they could have been more efficiently employed by trying to SURROUND the van.

Bloody police, you'd think they didn't have brains in their heads. Confused

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
