Replaced my iPod with a walkman about 3 years ago when Sarah got one and I realised how much better they were and that there was no need for iTunes anymore.

Even when I DID have iTunes I also used either Winamp or Windows media player to play mp3s. Mostly because they functioned better.

Don't pay attention to most played as its always on shuffle, so the top played are all its own choice Laughing

I never get any issues with itunes, seems though quite a few people get problems.

Though actually thinking back itunes on windows was a glitchy pos, on a mac no such frustration.

Ipods are for kids and people that like Bling
I listen to music on my blackberry (Itoones not needed press & play)
or my laptop via winamp / VLC
I banned my kids from putting itunes anywhere near my PC's or laptops
I'll sort my music the way I want it because I know better than it does
esp as a lot of my music is bootlegs, Itoones cant figure out these are not on its database
and wants to rename them and 99.9% of the time its wrong

I think things have probably come a long way since you last used itunes then. Razz itunes doesn't sort your shit if you don't want it to.

I do remember once tho when itunes deleted around 800+ songs. Gave some weird confusing message about updating & gave no hints that my current files would be lost. Since then, no problems. Used it for so long it'd feel weird using anything else.

10 years since the ipod was released. Shocked

12 years since the first portable hard-drive players came out then. Wink I'm sure apple probably tagged it as revolutionary or innovative when they made theirs though.

I don't have an iPod, but I like the layout of iTunes, and think the store is good to use when finding top songs and previewing albums.

On the odd occasion I've used windows media player I found it slow.

You think the layout is good because you know nothing else.
Windows media player does not count.

Winamp is just plain win. So customisable for exactly what you want.

I'm willing to try it, but I doubt it has an option similar to the iTunes store with the option to buy music if you want to, the track options, so you can edit when the song stops and starts (useful for when lifting songs off YouTube) and many more good & useful features.

When did you last try iTunes?

On the pc I use the built in windows media player because its already on the pc so I dont have to download another one.

Off the pc I use my Palm Pre phone. It's an 8 gig contraption that holds enough songs to keep me happy. If I dont plug headphones into it I plug my guitar amp into it and piss the neighbours off. Very Happy

Music - Foobar2000
Video - VLC

Winamp's got a bit OTT with features for me tbh, foobar2000 can be as simple or as complicated as I want. VLC plays anything you throw at it.

I used iTunes and couldn't get on with it. I now use Windows Media Player or Foobar2000. Although I've found the latter to be a bit crap aswell.

I play music from we7 aswell when I can't be bothered downloading/buying.

iTunes on OS X.

I used iTunes on Windows too, but its so much better on OS X.

iTunes, AirTunes hooked up digitally to my Onkyo 576 and Tannoy 5.1 System, means i can keep my music on my laptop, still have it wireless, and enjoy crisp clean audio.

Creative Media Source, it's the bollocks. Thumbs Up

You do need a Creative sound-card with it for best effect though. And 5.1 or 7.1 speakers.
