How are BIH's for rust please?

I leave my bike outside and mostly with a cover when I can be bothered, I noticed a mirror screw is pretty rusty. The bike was kept in a garage with the previous owner, but I don't have one!

I used ACF 50 on the bottom once, maybe I should do it once more just incase.

Anyone have bad experiences with their BIH rusting? Thanks

B1H is ok... only rust I got is the screws as you say, and the hose clips on the pipes. Mines outside all the time, no cover and by the sea.

Bikes that are used and left outside will rust/corrode. Just try and clean it regularly and use ACF etc to keep the worst of it at bay. Odd screws and what not can be easily be replaced come spring time Thumbs Up

Okay that's good. My RS125 that I sold ended up with a hole from the new guy and I gave him 100 quid back so sold ti for £700 as opposed to 800. It was his fault but it was pretty rusty underneath :o

Also anyone know the tyre pressure please. I can't find it on the net and the tyres have not been pumped since I have had it, and the other guy only did 6 miles since July 2009. Tyres squaring up :o

36F 42R are the reccomended pressures

After point of sale its his responsability

Yeah everypne told me I shouldn't have, but he was kinda in tears like I don't know what to do, and I felt sorry for him. I only had sold it on 3rd Oct. Maybe I am too soft.

Thanks man about the pressures. They were on 26 each and I guessed the pressure and did it at 30 because I didn't see your reply at lunch time. Gotta pop back to the petrol station after work!

Maybe A Ninja's build quality is better than the Aprillia RS125, but it did get me scared so I bought ACF 50. I plan to keep this bike 3 or 4 years so I want to look after it as best I can.

Maybe the best thing to do is be bothered to cover it all the time, dont understand why you wouldnt.
I try to wash mine every evening before i cover it too.

Fair enough, i just think if you're bothered enough to buy acf50 then you should be bothered enought to chuck a cover over it.

I think I will start, it's better in the long term. I shouldn't get lazy at all, but I don't think I can wash the bike as often as you though:p
