I haven't heard of that either...
Mines doin great  Just tipped 5k on it now, it does see a lot of use. No mechanical issues at all, fuel consumptions gone up but I'm aware that's because of my riding style.
I keep it well maintained and clean, change the oil regularly.. its all good |

I love my CBF. I've ridden about 5/6 125s and admittedly mine is the newest one i've ridden but the handling is brilliant.
Front end is a bit light at 70 though

Top speed i've had out of it was 85mph... but that's on the smoothest, straightest road ever and i had my head down and wind on my back.
Engine was screaming so i only held it for 5 - 10 seconds then let off the throttle cause i felt sorry for it
Don't like making it struggle like that.. but i had to do it once!

Yeah OK it may have been 83 .. but it was close enough! It was on an empty dual carriage way, slight decline in the road as i scooped under a bridge and the wind was catching my back. Twas awesome.

And i felt a great need to lean forward incase the front wheel actually lifted it felt so light. I was completely in control  Praying i didn't randomly have a tyre blowout
