New Control Unit .. WTF .. ! ?

Filled up tank ... 8 quid .. at asda .. rode 6 miles .. bike dies on me ... rode 1 miles dies for good ...

125 cc Cagiva Raptor .. 6 months old ...

Currently charging batterry as half dead from trying to start ..

When turn key .. continues to make noise .. wheras before after 2/3 seconds would not ...

Won't start .. nearly starts .. won't bump start ... and a few popping sounds from exhasut / backfires i have had ...

Me thinks dodgy fuel / carb blockage ..

What does anyone else think ..

...Is there still fuel in it? I.e can you see it in the tank/hear it sloshing about, or has it all drained away somehow?

If it's still in there I'd be inclined to think you've got an airblock in your fuel line or dragged some crap from the bottom of your old tankful fella.

Sounds like you rode off with the choke on and fouled the plug. Either that or there was some crap in the tank and when it ran low of fuel it sucked it in.

The following is a bit of a pain but certain to fix it:
Take the plug out and scrub the tip clean with a wire brush. With the plug out holder the starter down for a second or 2 to clear the cylinder out. Put the plug in and try starting it. If that doesn't work you'll need to drain the tank and fill it with fresh fuel, then drain the carb using the screw under the float bowl.

Tank has never got to reserve light .. and is plastic tank ... it was unleaded .. green pump ... and a nice walk with bike .. not ..

It's just been started up in the garden with baterry charging ... i don't know wht gone on .. but i need to go out tonight at 8 .... tank is full of clear unleaded ..

It's running now .. is it just some bad fuel .. caus it were ' nt the batterry ..

I bought a new bike to prevent this shit .. i'm thinking i could get 2 mile down the road and have it die on me .. again ..

Water in the petrol would cause most of these problems, can you drain it and refill with fresh?

There is no reason for any water to be present .... the batterry was fine .. as in kicking over for 20 mins before it laboured ...

Perhaps if i've had no real long jounreys as of late, and the cold .. has meant .. batterry labouring / i don't know ...

A few week back .. i took the plug off .. and gave it a wipe / clean .. and put back in ... the bike is on 3500 KM .. and had its first rip of service at 1000 km ....

I'm gona leave soon for a kebab . then the casino .. if it at least gets me both .. then will be happy ... surely it all points towards some dodgy fuel / carb prob .. i've turned fuel off .. 2/3 times and started in an attempt to drain any crap ... Well the start of tghe day began with a snapped clutch adjuster ...

When it would not start .. on turning the key .. it continued to make the noises it usually makes for the first few secs before firing up ... now the continuastion of that noise has gone ..

So yes .. starter motor playing up certainly / maybe ....
