To my memory the past few winters we havent seen snow until late December/January time? Woke to this in Aberdeen today. Foreboding??

Yup, i was up and out 6.30 yesterday and it was brass monkeys, wasn't this bad last year as was doing DAS and remember it wasn't bad at all!!
Could be a long cold one, but makes appreciate the goods days bit more Crisp sunday mornings cant be beaten

It was pretty cold in manchester.. frost is well on its way. I hate it. I hate anything which stops me riding my bike.

I'll ride literally until its impossible though!

Bah, sod the crap weather, i ride in it whatever the weather. Only time i had to miss work because of the weather was when i came off in the snow and sprained my ankle.

Snow i can deal with, its the ice that i hate!

But thinking about it, i need to sort out some winter gloves as it was a bit nippy this morning...

Not alot you can do to an air-cooled engine..Good isn't it.
It's not cold enough (fingers crossed) to warrant changing the viscosity of engine oil. 10W 40 still fits the bill.

out of curiosity, how many people ride in snow, and how do you find it to wet weather?

I ride all year round, but avoid snow and ice.

I rode every day of my life until a couple of years ago (when I gave up overnight and decided to just ride on the track) and snow was my favorite ridding condition provided it was the right kind of snow. Riding in the dark down lanes over three inches of virgin powder whilst it is still falling is heavenly.
Ice and wet snow suck.

I would ride all year round but the fact is the council never salt my local area and it's impossible to get anywhere. Even if I pushed the bike to the nearest main (salted) road I'd probably drop it as my street becomes an ice rink during winter.
