Let me off by saying Hi to everyone, any way back to topic,

I have just bought ( that i might regret ) a Hummer 200cc, Its a chinese/jap rep of a Honda Crf in my opinion.

So basically i want to get it road legal like its brother ( Xiong Tai - XTQ ). So what i wish to do is take out the 200cc engine and replace it with a very very similiar engine 125 from the XTQ bike. I'm just wondering if this is allowed or possible?.

But I'm still at a loss as to why you'd want to make it a 125...

could it be possible that i get it restricted then for road legal use?. Or what's my way around this?.

I thought the regulation from our illustrius DVLA (Dopey Venemous Lazy A*seholes) state that they must be informed of any changes.

It may only mean a form fill at the local P.O.

Still, it's always a meaningless hassle dealing with the pedantic DVLA twits though.

Options:

Fitting an engine comes with the risk of unreliabilities due to poor fit/technique/component quality.

The unreliability could be a danger to a new rider.
Pushing a dead horse along a busy road is not the safest of pastimes.

Maybe off load the 200cc bike as is and pick up a standard 125 with standard components.

Or if you fancy the challenge then batter on.

It would take a fair bit of cash and alot of time to get it road registered.

Either save up some cash or buy a cheap (I mean a real cheap) 125.

How much we looking at to put this on the road?. So new engine etc?, i dont mind forking out atm for a new engine etc.

I'm going to basic training soon so this bike wont be on the road till like next year maybe. But i'm up for a challenge.

Would you not then need to pass it through an SVA test? SVA is essentially a very harsh MOT test.

Thing is, you can get road legal chinese 125s for not much, so doesn't seem worth the hassle of faffing with this one to get it road legal personally.

But i need to sell this bike :/
