Got some of these last week, to replace the BT21s, and the difference is incredible. With the Bridgestones I always felt that I was having to fight the front from going where it wanted, and if it lost a little pressure it'd be falling into to corners. Never felt I could *really* trust them 100% either.

The Pilots, on the other hand, feel totally planted and safe. I've still not scrubbed them in fully yet, but even so they feel 10 times better already than the 21s. They don't feel quite as flickable, but that may be partly due to the fact that they're slightly oversize (MCN specs said it was 120x60x17 and 160x60x17, as opposed to the 'proper' sizes of 110x70x17 and 150x70x17), but they do let me decide where we're going, instead of having to fight them.

Never felt so confident on tyres! There's one particular roundabout that is so bumpy I've always taken it really easy before, but now I can fly around it and not come anywhere close to the limits.

Yet to see how long they'll last of course, but by all accounts they're as long lasting as any other sport tourers.

So, if anyone's thinking of replacing the rubber on their Bandit 6, I can thoroughly recommend them. They're awesomely good.

I too was very happy with mine, unfortunately only did 1k miles on em until the bike was out of action.

I was particularly happy with their wet weather performance, they felt as good as the shinkos I had on before did in the dry.

My boss has them too and swears by it.

I have Diablo Corsa's which are alright, but not so good in the wet.

I am thinking of getting them when my tyres need changing.

Feeling good so far on the PR2s And loads better than the Pilot power, on the duc at least.

I am a fan of the original Pilot Road for winter riding.

Loads of tread for good grip in the wet. Probably move to the road 2's for next summer though.

Cheaper than Bridgestone BT020's 21's etc

I've had Road Pilot 2s on my Multistrada for almost 2 years, they're great tyres and they last well too

The PR2s will last you ages. They seem to wear very well. I’ve had some on the FireBlade for a year and they’re hardly showing any wear at all. Now I’ve only done about 4000 miles in that time due to my very short commute, but the Blade was previously munching through BT020s like they were made of butter.

I agree that the PR2s have much more stable and confidence inspiring handling when compared to the Bridgestones. While I’m sure that part of that is simply changing to fresh tyres from horrible worn ones, the Michelins have stayed feeling good longer than the 020s ever did.

The other bonus was wet grip. I had several arse-clenching moments spinning up the rear wheel on the 020s, especially coming off wet roundabouts. I didn’t have a single grip failure with the PR2s, although that does beg the question of whether they grip, grip, grip then let go in a big way! I see that Michelin does have that reputation.

Most of the difference you are noticing is probably down to you going from worn out, squared off old tyres to new ones with a rounded profile.

My bro uses them though, rates them highly. I went for pirelli angel STs, seem good enough .

Tyres are a strange thing, what works for you in your mind might not suit me, whats worked in the past is trusted whereas someone else has lost it and think they are rubbish. Its quite a contentious subject I guess.

Anyway, I swapped out some utterly shit Avons on my Hayabusa (I remarked about them after the first test ride) for the PR2's. Mainly because the majority of the riders on UKbusa's recommended them. I liked them a lot to be fair, never gave me any reason to worry. I only covered about 1200 miles on them overall but 90% of that was quite spirited 'fun' riding and they didnt suffer much damage at all. Lads on the 'busa site were known to get 5k out of them, so even if people doubt the performance theres absolutely none about the durability of them

iv done 4.2k plus a track day on my pr2's so far since fitting them 6-7months ago and they have plenty of tread left to make me think ill be looking at near 6-7k miles out of them.

Fair amount of boring motorway use in there unfortunately but shows they resist squaring well, and they were certainly sticky enough for a novice trackday, and fine for me in the twistys.
I have had a few slides on them, a couple of rear slides and a single front one (magnificently saved by myself and a hideous amount of good luck), not sure who was at fault there, but the roads around me were heavily laden in gravel for a while after some "resurfacing", you know the sort, "layer of tarmac, layer of gravel, that oughta do it!

overall good tyres, will be trying something diff next though, maybe avon storm ultra 2's or some roadsmarts

on a zx7r btw, so not a completely massive bike that tears tyres to pieces, but it certainly is heavy so should last longer on your bandit 6
