What graphics card give you the best bang for your buck these days, I have to retire my old 8800GTS as it can't keep up so much these days with newer games. Looking for something decent, I have pretty good specs, i7, 6gb DDR3 etc. Looking to spend under £300 preferably. I've always had Nvidia Cards since the late 90's and prefer them. Also Must have 2 DVI outputs, the ability to have a third HDMI/VGA screen would also be good.

What is your PSU? If it can stretch to one of these you will not be disappointed. Had one since it came out after years of driver problems with NVidia. ATi have got it right now, but it is a tad power hungry. Wink

Christ, and there I was trying to justify £40 to update my ancient Nvidia 6600 to something with an HDMI out for the HTPC Shocked

I have an 8800 You can have for £50 delivered (I have 2).

I think my PSU is 800W but it is a cheap one, It handles my 8800 fine but when I Sli'd the pair it would reset anytime I put strain through it. Googling says the 8800 was one of the most power hungry VGU's on the market though.

OK, one of those and a decent PSU. Anything left over put into the piggy bank as you save for the second one. You'll still get better performance than the 8800.

ati have just released thier 6800series. performance is compareable to the 5800 series, but is cheaper. they apparently have quite a lot of overclocking potential especially the 6850 and can be had for 149.99. i believe that the sapphire version is smaller, consumes less power than the 5800 series and has an overclocking tool bundled with it.
these will play all of todays games in full hd with no problems. unless you are playing games at super high res then from my point of view this is your best option.
i will most likely be getting one of these as soon as AMD release their new range of processors. as soon as i know what socket type they are going to be using for the next generation of processors i will be building a pc
