I picked up a rootkit somehow, just thought I'd post it up here since it seems to be affecting a lot of people. Can't remember the name of if but it was causing clicked links, and mainly google search results, to be re-directed to different sites than what the links pointed to. It also caused my PC to run very poorly, failing to sometimes do stuff like shut down, launch IE, OE, task mangler, msconfig etc etc.

Took me a while of looking through hijackthis logs to figure out it wasn't something visible so following a post on bleepingcomputer I downloaded and ran TDSkiller which turned-up a rootkit, and promptly cured it too.

Got that one way back about 7 months ago. Combo fix also works. I had to use my linux PC to download it stick it on a pen drive then go over to my dell.
